Two Months Out

Well today is my two month mark.  I'm a little disappointed in my results so far, but at least I'm on the loser's bench.  I am down only 7 pounds since surgery, 15 pounds since I started the pre-op diet, and 35 pounds since I started this whole journey last summer.  I would still be 285 pounds if I hadn't started this journey so that I am very thankful for.  I knew the weight loss would be slow with the lap band.  I guess I'm just afraid to fail, and even though I know I'm not a failure I'm also not a raving success.  I just got my first fill on Tuesday and I have noticed a definite difference.  I do have little restriction, but I still think I eat way too much.  I need to up my time in the gym.  These are all things that I am working on,but I am just feeling a little down this week.  I know I will get there.  I just feels like I'm stalling out before I can even get a good start.

You have been through a lot in the past two moths and your body needs time to heal.  Now that you had your first fill it should start to help, but from what I have read it can take several fills to get to the "sweet spot".  So hang in there, you can do this!

My highest was 282, and I'm counting my losers bench starts @ the top, it makes me feel more successful.  I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, but I haven't had my first fill.... 4/3/09.... You hang in there,  I read on here a couple of days ago, someone was 6 1/2 months out, lost 150 lbs. and had never had a fill.... wow what a inspiration!!!!  It can be done.  Don't skimp on your protein.. I've found egg beaters are low calorie, high protein... and if I eat them first... I'm not hungry... I've got a bad knee and walking to burn calories hurts.  We took a load of clothes to the City Mission yesterday.... which made me feel better.  I said goodbye to my 24,22,20's (even though I've said goodbye before, and then had to spend more due to regaining) I'm not going to do it this time.... I even took my good stuff.... you know "just in case I gain".   Keep your eyes on the goal.... My first goal is 199, I just really want to get under that 200 mark.... It's been along time.

This is just my attitude and maybe it will help. I didn't put this weight on overnight so I don't expect to take it off overnight. If over the long term I continue to lose weight, even 1-2 lbs a week or 2 weeks then I'm happy. If you look at 2-3 lbs per month thats 24 -35 lbs a year.

One idea is to put a picture before having surgery on your fridge... look at it every day and just think how far you have come!!!! How much better you feel, think of all the positives.
