One Month Post Op Appointment

I had my one month post-op appointment yesterday and everything is going well, according to what the PA said.  I have lost a total of 50.4 pounds since I started this journey on Oct. 17th.  I have lost 28 pounds since my pre-op appointment on Jan. 30th.  The PA said I was slightly ahead of where he thought I would be so I was happy about that.  Guess I am progressing as I should be, if not a little better.

I am eating the puree diet yet but will progress to the soft diet next Thursday, which is actually the beginning of week seven for me.  I feel great and have lots of energy, so hopefully my exercise and healthy eating is good for me.  :-)

Thanks for listening to me.  I appreciate all of you!

Well, my bubble has been slightly deflated today.  Lynn, the PA called me this afternoon and said my protein was low and he wants me to watch that closely until my next appointment.  Bummer!!  I am going to make sure I get 60 grams of protein everyday instead of between 50-60.  If I stay on the high side of the protein, I'll be fine I think.  I told him that I'd been eating pudding for some of my snacks and the dietician told me at my appointment on Friday that pudding doesn't have enough protein in it.  Oh how I wish Amy had been available during the time of my post surgery eating.  :-(  She is back now so I feel much better.

Anyway, just a little something to be aware of for me and I will watch the protein intake closer for the time being.  Any words of wisdom from those of you who had your surgeries years ago???

Thanks for listening, everyone.

Hugs,
Carol
