6 weeks post-op Update
Id just like to start by saying "WOW!!!" I cant believe it has been 6 weeks today, since I was so nervously carted in the to the OR still wondering if I was doing the right thing or not!! And to answer my question, YES, Im SOOOO glad I did it!!
Well as of this AM I am down 27lbs!!! Everyone is telling me how great I look. My energy level is way higher than before. Im not tired all day long working with preschoolers!! I am down 2 pant sizes since I started my journey/inquiry into surgery. I am also down 52lbs total since October when I started looking into this! My rings are getting big on my fingers and I will need to get something to keep them on until I get to my new "normal" weight and can have them re-sized. I am only 10lbs away from ONE of my goals of being under 200lbs by March 31st. I can actually feel my colar bones, which means I have them!!! Who knew?? I am trying new foods everyday (pureed of course) and so far I have had very good luck with them!! :)
I cant believe how nervous and scared I was, looking back on all of this. However, I would have been more scared had I not been nervous and had the worries I did have!! I feel like the Lord has blessed me and my family and for that I am greatful!!
Smiles,
~Jenn

That's amazing!!! I often wonder, "Am I making the right decision?" Then I read what experience that you have to offer, and it just confirms that this is what I need to do. It's great to hear that you are doing sooooo well after your surgery, and are meeting the goals that you have set forth. Keep up the awesome work, and keep us all up to date!!
Congratulations!!! You must be very proud!!

Jenn,
That is great.. Geez, where did the six weeks go?? Seems like it was yesterday you were prepping for your 2 week liquid diet!!! I bet it feels so great to have so much more energy... Good for you and I am sure you will continue to do well. I am so glad that everyone is so positive on the Iowa Board. Have you had much head hunger?? or are you so pumped up that food has taken the back seat so to say in your daily life now??
Thanks ladies!! I agree that the Iowa Board is encouraging, and I am really thankful that it is too!!! Everyone keep posting and updating on how you are all doing!! :)

It is so true that the Iowa forum is positive and focused on helping each other on the journey we are all on. Just like any other trip/journey, we might all be at different places but we are all going to the same place.........a life of good health with no weight related health issues.
Everyone is important on this forum and we all help each other, whether we are thinking about having surgery, researching about the surgeries, or pre or post surgery. I feel very blessed to have all of you to turn to whenever I check in here. You are wonderful and I hope that I offer each of you as much as you offer to me with your kind words, supportive comments and positive support.
Hugs to all of you!
Carol
So apparently working with preschoolers all day long everyday has NOT taught me how to count yet!! LMAO!!! :S I was reading a post on the main board about this girl who is 5 weeks out, when I glanced over to look at her surgery date only to find out it was the same date as mine!! So I got out my handy dandy calendar and started counting and SURE ENOUGH!! Im only 5 weeks out, NOT 6!!! Woopsies!!! Hee hee hee, minor mistake!!
With that being said, all of the above still applies and holds true, except that Im only 5 weeks out and not 6. Sorry for the mis-information!! :)

Jenn,
I think the surgery makes us forget things, like counting,, I think I am 9 weeks out,
I am eating food really well now,, went to Red Lobster with my daughter and she thought the food I ate looked so funny on my plate that she took a picture of it,, It was 3 shrimp scampi, one small crab leg,,and 1/4th of a lobster tail,,I ordered shrimp ****tail for us to share.. plus she shared her lunch,, it was so good and I dont usually use shrimp sauce but I did this time and the flavor was so good,, things taste so good now,,
She was stuffed and I was just fine,, she couldnt believe I was full,, I have lost 54# now and the compliments are really coming,,
I bought a new pair of pants, a size smaller and the legs are way too big for me,, my kids cant believe I can walk as good as I can and no more huffing and puffing,, I can even walk for 35 minutes without stopping 5 or 6 times,, this is great,,,
Keep on going down,,
Bonnie
