Just a quick note to say I'm home and surgery went well.  Tiny issue with nausea the day after surgery but only because I sipped to quickly.  I'm still feeling tired, but after a couple more nights in my own bed, I'll be my old self again!

Just thought I'd let you all know I'm doing okay and getting stronger each day.  Sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk..........that's my course of action for now.

Thanks for listening and caring about me.

Carol

Carol -   I'm so glad it went well and you are home.   Remember it's normal to get a little discouraged over the next few days - so if you need some encouragement -come to us.

In the mean time I'm praying for a speedy recovery for you!

Carol,
Congrats and welcome home!!! One thing that I found really helped me was to make my protein into jello and freeze. I always found it a good way of getting protein in and having something to keep my throat from getting dry. I also found it helped my foamies. I use Unjury unflavored and mix w/ jello/ . There are special instructions though because if you get it too hot you will change the protein and apparently from what I understand, you will know right away.
Any questions please feel free to email me [email protected]
Keep on keeping on and take lots of pictures- you will not believe how fast the transformation actually is. Also it helps on those days when you feel like you do not see a difference and then presto looking at the early pics and then the next week etc. can be so uplifting.
Get plenty of rest!
Hugs,
Shelly

Thanks everyone.  I know the first week is the most difficult one but with each passing day I can tell I am feeling better and "eating" gets easier.  I found a new love for cherry flavored water but can't handle any flavoring in my milk yet.  I am going to freeze some of that cherry flavored water for something different but I'll probably give it a whirl in the Magic Bullet to make it slushy.

You know how they tell you to cough and deep breath, which I am doing fine with by the way.  But last night I had my first belly laugh when my loving husband upset my cup of cherry water on the floor and jumped sky high!  I laughed my butt off at him jumping to take care of it.  Of course, it wasn't funny watching it go on the beige colored carpet but hey, we can clean that!  Think a recommendation should be to rent a bunch of comedies for the first couple days to make you laugh your butt off and get that deep breathing and coughing going.

Have my post-op tomorrow at 3:30 so will get rid of the drain then.  Hope to get more outdoor time in then too with my walks.  It's been so cold that I've been dragging my feet getting outside.

Thanks again for checking in and letting me know you are out there for me.  You are all so special to me and I couldn't do this without you.

Hugs,
Carol

Carol so glad to hear it went well and you are home recovering.  I haven't reached the losers bench yet, but I am telling myself surgery and the first week will be something like child birth.  It is something you endure and remember quite well when your there and now, but it will be a faded memory when you see your results and enjoy your new life!!
Take Care

Hi Carol!  Great to hear from you!  Welcome home and glad to hear you are doing great!  It's a start to a new Carol.  Woo hoooooooooooooooooooooooo

Keep  us updated on how things are going for you.  I wish you a speedy recovery.  I do like the idea of watching funny movies to get the deep breathing and coughing done after surgery.

Guess what?..................  I'm still waiting for insurance approval! hahaha  They have until the 23 in my book to decide... hahaha  They got all the info on 1/23 and they keep "REMINDING" me that they have 30 days to decide!   Do you think they are waiting for day 29? hahaha

I wish I knew an insurance person to find out how the process really works.

Anyway, great to see you back on the board and take it easy!

Hugs,
Kristi
