HELLLLP!!!!!

I need your help with a couple of things!!! Could/would someone please remind me to take some before pictures by Tuesday?!  I meant to do that this weekend, and totally forgot!  I was busy preparing lists and schedules and making sure I got everything I needed, vitamins, prescriptions filled, food for the family, ect.  I forgot to buy one of these sewing tape measures so that I could measure everything like Michelle suggested...but I will try to get to the general store tomorrow to get one...i bet they have one cheap!

Also, im having a bit of a delma today as well!!  Its almost funny...except its NOT!! (know what I mean?)  So today, we were getting around to go take the kids to a 4-H skating party and my youngest son (who is 4) comes up to me with his combine (you know those really huge heavy ones that are like 1/16th scale or something like that) and says, mom can you put the corn head on? So of course, like every good mom I said yes hand it to me....(da, da, daaaaaa) and he "hands" it to me, or so he thought...and I didnt have a hold of it yet, and he let go....down it went (all 20lbs of it) right onto my big toe!!!!!  I screamed, yelled, cried, you name it!! Fell to the floor, could hardly breathe, it had turned 12 shades of purple before i even hit the floor!!! Of course, my son is crying thinking that im mad at him and hes in trouble, so Im crying, trying to get him to quit crying telling him that mommy's not mad at him, its not his fault, its mommys fault, i didnt have a hold of it....anyways, long story, but I think the darn thing is broken!! I took tylenol twice today, it still hurts just as bad now as it did then.  I can hardly walk on it....hobble is a much better term!  We did take the kids skating but i sat on my butt the ENTIRE time...which sucks cuz I was looking forward to counting that as exercise for today!!  Hopefully the pain meds will help with that too after surgery cuz walking im afraid is giong to be a challenge for a few days/weeks!  For those of you already past surgery, correct me if im wrong, but I dont think i can take anymore tylenol after today...i think i read somewhere that you must stop taking all meds 2 days before your surgery.  I cant believe this is really happening THIS week.....2.5 days left.....OMG!!!!!!!

Hi Jenn,

You poor girl.............that toe has to hurt after dropping that combine on it.  I've seen those toys and they are heavier than ever.  Good for little boys who like to play with them just like they were the real thing, but not so good when dropped on toes.  I hope it feels better soon.  Soak it in warm water just so you have a chance to relax for 15 minutes or so.    Sounds like you need a few minutes of relaxing.

I'm impressed that you are thinking ahead to measuring and everything else before Wednesday.  I cannot believe you can get it all done and still take care of those three little ones.  I sure hope that you have help coming when you come home so you can take it easy for a week or so.  I know you said your hubby was going to be there and if he's like mine, he'll be fantastic!  Aren't we lucky??

I'm home today with my daughter who has the flu.  I keep praying that it doesn't hit me because I'm afraid it'd delay my surgery.  Isn't that selfish and aren't I terrible for thinking that when she's so sick?!  I want her to get well, don't get me wrong, but I want me to stay well too.  

I am thinking of you and will be praying for a marvelous surgery and recovery for you, Jenn.  Take care and rest up so you can walk in the hospital after surgery.

Well here's my update about this whole toe situation...

I emailed Lynn today to let him know what was going on...(for those that dont know, hes a relative of ours).  He was worried that if its broken and I cant walk that Im higher risk for a blood clot and might need to postpone my surgery!! :( Ahhhh, Noooo!!!!  I went to my pcp after work and they x-rayed it and its NOT, i repeat NOT broken!!! Woo Hoo!! The dr used this long needle that is hooked up to some sort of elctrode type maching and "burned" his way through my toenail to "drain" the juices and alleviate the pain.  It has helped a bit, but not completely.  It still hurts, but im walking a little better on it.  I think i might take a hot bath tonight and soak it to see if that helps at all.  He said since its been over 24hrs since it happened that it might be 3 days before the pain goes away, which at that time i will be medicated enough to hopefully not notice, either that, or it will make me forget about what is happening...:)  So, thats that!! Fighting the good Fight!!

PS.. I weighed in at weigh****chers tonight, and was down 3lbs!! I will take it!! I passed my 25lbs and made it to 27.8lbs gone!! WOO HOO!!! Less to lose after surgery!! :)

Jenn did you get your before pics taken?  I imagine you are excited with surgery so close now! 

Hope your toe is feeling a little better, glad it's not broke!

Good luck on your surgery.  I hope it goes well and can't wait to hear how it went!

I'm relieved to hear your toe is not broken.  I know if anything had put my surgery in jepardy, even of just postponing it I would have been crazy.  We've all waited for this so long to have to wait even a few days longer is hard.  I bet you're so excited and nervous.    Congrats on losing that much weight.  I take my hat off to you.  Just remember when you come home from the hospital that you need to relax and take it easy.  I'm not good at that and tried to do too much too soon.  You'll save yourself a lot of pain if you allow yourself to be taken care of.  And good luck.  Soon you'll be on the loser's bench.  Can't wait to have ya!

Hi Jenn,

That is good your toe is not broken for many reasons!  It's good to call and check these things out so I'm glad you talked to Lynn about it.  At least you dealt with it ahead of time and got to your PCP and got it checked out.

I just want to say I'll be saying a prayer for you tomorrow and thinking about you too.  I'm not sure what time your surgery is but I'll be thinking of you at some time tomorrow.  You are going to do really great and I believe your surgery and recovery will be awesome.
