University of Iowa Support Group

Hi my name is Jennifer...i live in SE Iowa...south of Iowa City. I am hoping to have surgery as I am awaiting approval from my insurance. What has only been about 3 weeks of waiting is starting to feel like an eternity! They are hoping to hear by Jan 8th so that we can schedule surgery for late Jan...i hope and pray i get an answer soon!! I was just wondering if anyone knows when the next support group meeting is at the University of Iowa? I looked on their website but they still have the December meeting info up. Thanks in advance for any help i get! I look forward to this long journey!

UI Obesity Surgery Support Group will meet Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. in room 4638 JCP. (Clinical Cancer Center conference room - across from elevator H on 4th floor) Topic: Healthy Choices while dining out. Presenter; Amy Lukas; Bariatric Dietitian.

The support group is free and open to anyone who has had bariatric surgery or is considering it. Registration is recommended. Please contact Chris Melichar 319-356-1887 or [email protected] with questions and to register.

ms_jj..nice to meet you!! Im near Washington...not too far from M.P. How is everthing going for you?? Im am getting so impatient to hear back from insurance...it feels like its been forever, even my husband thought so!! LOL...so tell me about yourself.

Sorry,  been busy with the holidays! I plan on being at the meeting on Tuesday, I had alot of fun last time! I've been doing really well, with the exception of all the icthing from the incisions! Hope to see you on Tuesday!
