Question about incisions

I am a patient of Dr. Eibes. Had lap-band on August 5. Today I went in for staple removal and they put glue and steri-strips on my incisions. They did not, however, tell me how long the steri-strips should stay on. I'm assuming just until they come off on their own? They didn't tell me to keep them dry, so I'm assuming I can shower. Anyone else have experience with this?

Hi Bugaloo, I also had lap band surgery on Aug. 5th but with Dr Cahalan at Mercy. I went in on Tuesday  and I didn't have staples only steri-strips and he removed them . I was told to shower with them and they never came off so he removed them.  How are you feeling and what do you get to eat??? I'm on soft foods, unjury drinks, broth, pudding,popsciles. yum,yum. I am really am ready for some eggs, meat, ect.  I've lost 24 lbs and my  insison where the port is is tender ,but I am very pleased how the sugery went.  keep in touch, Margo in Ames
