BC/BS Alliance Select PPO
aSunset,
I have Wellmark but it's the Blue Access plan. My paperwork was sent in on 7/18 and I called on 7/28 to see if they had received everything and needed anything else. Well guess what, I was approved already!
I don't think you'll jinx anything by calling them. If there is a hold up they may be able to tell you why and then you can work on providing whatever info they need.
Good luck to you, I'll know you'll hear soon!

Yes - I have BC BS Alliance Select. Every employer plan within the is slightly different - but mine went smoothly and I was approved the first time. You can find their requirements on their website, or call the customer service number on your card.
I wouldn't worry about calling them... I called to verbally get the requirements, then regularly to see if they had gotten the infomation - and then regularly to see if it had been processed yet.

I also have BC/BS Alliance Select, I called like every 3 days after I knew that they got my paperwork, and it took them 2 weeks to get me my decision which unfortunatly was denied, they are really friendly people so I wouldn't worry about calling them. I'm working on my appeal now hopefully that will go better than the first time around "approval wise" Good Luck to you!!!
Thanks. The dr moved my consult to Sept. I did call bc/bs, she said there were requirements and she would send them to me as well as something for the dr to fill out and return. I would also have to pay the deductible as well as another amt up to $2700. The Dr's office stated the deductible will have to be paid up-front the week before surgery.
