Cross post: 2nd 5K ran!
Hello!!!
I am proud to admit that I ran my second 5k this morning!
I did it in 30 minutes just as I did the last one. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and 65ish degrees. Couldn't ask for a better day!
It was a race for "the cure" particularly breast and ovarian cancers to help raise money for those underprivleged women who cannot afford preventative, screening and diagnostic services as well as education.
My Angel (she knows who she is) was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has just finished her treatments. She came today, drove a couple hours to be there to watch me run this in her honor. It was just that.. a true honor.
No other person inspires me as much as she does. She is so courages and giving and always smiling. She truly is my "angel" in more ways then she even knows. She is so beautiful.
I am so glad I could share this day with such a wonderful, beautiful, strong and courageous lady who has taught me many life lessons along the way...
Please pray for those affected by this disease! I hope in my lifetime a cure is found but if it isn't, we must continue to support those who are affected by it, most of us know someone who has.
Thanks for listening! Have a wonderful day..
I thank God for the gift I have been given (my RNY) to make a day like this possible
Hugs, Melissa
