Just staring process-Insurance question
Hi all. I am new to this website and am loving the info. Question..I have a Cigna-Midlands Choice open access insurance plan. I am in the end of my first month of physician supervised diet and exercise. I have GERD and arthritis and both cause me lots of problems. The lady at my surgeon's office is worried GERD won't be enough of a diagnosis for Cigna. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks for the help.
I also have CIGNA- Midlands Choice & find them very easy to work with. However, I had my surgery before the insurance companies started making it harder to get bariatric surgery.
I suspect that if your BMI is high enough, the arthritis & GERD should be enough to get you covered.
I have had many medical expenses this year so far, reaching my out of pocket limit already in January. They have paid for everything so far, even authorized my getting a $4,500 shot & there's 3 more of them in the future.
Good luck. If you really are concerned, call them & ask. It can't hurt.
