Hi anyone know of a good surgeon

Hi My name is Donna I currently reside in Jackson MN, but next friday we move into Pella Ia,  I had lapband surgery in may of this yr and i now will need a new surgeon that is prepared to take me on in Iowa  as their patient as i can not travel 8 hours one way to get my band adjusted. Any info on what surgeons u guys used and numbers would be great. I looked into Grinell but there website only talks about RNY so im guessing they dont do lapbands. Any info would be great help. Grinnell Surgical Associates has a surgeon that goes to Pella.  I think Dr Kermode.  You could try them and see if they would do your fills, I don't know why they wouldn't do it.  Their # is 641-236-4323.  Good luck Kourtney

 One of the best in Iowa is Dr Todd Eibes in West Des Moines Iowa ...his # is 515 241 2250. It's probaby about a 45 -60 minute drive from Pella.  He would be well worth the drive

Hi Donna.  The above mentioned are all excellent surgeons.  I would recommend them also.  My surgeon is in Fort Dodge.  Dr. VerSteeg.  I chose him mostly because he is closest to my house (near Mason City) and also he only does the laproscopic procedures.  Faster recovery. Hi Donna - Welcome to Pella, I'm in Knoxville only 15 miles away.  I would recommend Grinnell as well.  Plus it is not a far drive for you.  I have had the best treatment there.  Small hospital, I could not believe the friendliness and the great care I received!

I too had surgery in Fort Dodge and it was mentioned at our last support group that Dr. Ver Steeg was going to start doing the lapband. If you cannot find anyone near you in Pella, You can contact the Iowa Bariatric Clinic in Fort Dodge, IA. Good luck with the move and finding a surgeon near you.
