I'm not in Council Bluffs (Sioux City), but I've noticed that there aren't many west coasters on this board.  You might want to check with the Nebraska board and see if there aren't some Omaha people.   Congratulations on your first 150 and good luck with your last 50 pounds.   I'd be glad to be of online support, but Omaha might have some closer people. I so understand.  This has been even worse during summer.  For some reason I don't like major chewing in summer!  I always survived on ice cream and watermelon in summer--not the healthiest choice even pre-op.  Some days the idea of endless chewing on a hunk of meat just takes any appetite I do have away.  I drink a lot of skim milk in summer to help get the protein up.  Fortunately, seafood is pretty easy for me, and a good grilled steak can take care of a couple of meals.  Egg or tuna salad can be pretty easy on me as well.  Chicken is still a problem for me, so I have to go with it finely chopped for a chicken salad.  I have found having the deli slice the meat about 1/2 thick works better for me than the wafer sliced.  I just cube it and add it to soup or such to boost the protein.  Also, it is easier for me to eat out of hand that way.  I still don't do sandwiches well.  Which is probably for the best as I used to love bread. Good luck, Sally
