JoDee! How are you doing??
I thought of you today, girl! How's it going for you?? I called my insurance today and was told I was approved for Lap Band! So now I have to dive back into my binder of info from Dr. Eibes office and really start to see what's what. I still need cardiac clearance and to attend a support group, so I'll be there Sept 1 no matter what! :)
Let us know how you're doing!
I'm sorry! I haven't checked the Iowa board in a while! I am doing great, thanks for asking! I started at Curves last week (after getting the okay from Dr. Eibes' office). I go in for my first fill and an exercise consult on the 28th.
The next support group meeting is September 8th (I think they intentionally skipped September 1st because it is Labor Day weekend). I'd hate to have you show up and no one be there! LOL You do know the support groups are now on Vine Street, right? They are no longer at Methodist because the room was too small!
What is great is that the support group now boasts a heck of a lot more lap band patients and those wanting lap bands! When I went to my first support group meeting in January of this year, I was in the minority - big time. It was all RNY people there that had had the surgery or wanted the surgery. I think there was one person who had had the lap band and I was the only one who was interested in lap band.....LOL
Hope to see you at the meeting on September 8th!
JoDee
Hey, girl! Yep, I figured the meeting is the 8th. Dang work...if so many people hadn't asked off and it hadn't been a big sales weekend, I would have been able to attend the August meeting. I told myself that if I heard from insurance by that Saturday, I'd move heaven and earth to get those few hours off. But, I didn't have a response from insurance yet then,so I let the meeting come and go without me.
Ok, I have no idea where Vine street is. I'll have to see what addy is in the binder so I can map it!
How much have you lost?? :)
That's awesome, girl!! I can't wait to have 30 pounds gone.
Funny, the doctor today asked if there was any chance I'd change to RNY. I said I had considered Lapband first, then decided on RNY, then Dr. Eibes asked if I was interested in LB since it was very low risk and all. I wasn't sure why he was asking...whether to recommend it instead, or because there might be a different cardiac issue with RNY. Just thought that interesting. I sure do hope I'm a Lapband success story when it's all over!
