Grinnell Hospital

Okay I have been working with Grinnell hospital since December to have my surgery Dr. Kermode) and I am having the hardest time getting approved with my insurance (midlans aetna.)  Is it just me or is this medical program(surgical associates) not the greatest at working with insurance companies?  Please let me know if you have had the same problems or if there is somewhere else for me to try.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks! I would guess it is probably your insurance company causing issues, some companies are notoriously slow about approving. They hope you will give up and than they won't have to pay. My wife and I had ours requests sent in within a week or so after our meeting and approvals within a week after that. We have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Alliance Select though. I didn't have trouble with them.  I would say it is the insurance company.  Have you called Aetna?  I was denied initially and they were very helpful in getting what I needed.
