I'M APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Katy and I am from Decorah, Iowa (NE corner).  I was recently approved through BC/BS Alliance Select, also, but after a resubmit.  I was originally denied due to the fact that I lacked the documentation of failed medically supervised weight loss attempts within two years preceeding the surgery.  I joined a weight loss program with a prescription from my doctor through Gundersen-Lutheran in LaCrosse, WI, that was 12 weeks long.  I visited my doctor every month during that time and she documented everything we talked about.  I resubmitted at the end of April and got the approval in May. Gundersen is booked out through July, so It will be August or Spetember before I have mine, and it will be Laparoscopic RNY.   I hope noone minds I jumped in on this posting.  Good luck to all of you that have upcoming surgeries, and to those who are awaiting approval.

I just had to let you know.  I got approved for my lap band.  Dr. G's office submitted on June 18 and I was approved June 20th. 2 DAYS LATER!!!!  I can't believe it!!!!  My surgery date is July 23.  Liquid diet starts July 9th.  I have already gone shopping and bought 2 boxes of gas x, water, crystal lite, sf jello, beneprotein, liquid tylenol, chewable and liquid vitamins, loose fitting clothes to wear home, boulion, a magic bullet mixer, and a few other things. I have a couple more things to pick up but I have plenty of time for that.  I am just soooooo excited and wanted to share because we are both going to Dr G.  I can't believe it has all happened this fast.  It is so close now.  26 days away from joining band land.  We are almost there!!!!!
