QC Genesis hospital
I gave this a few days, figuring someone who had to have gone through their center would answer but I guess that's not going to happen.
I didn't have mine done there but my cousin did & she had a very good experience. She was the first to have hers done laparscopic at Genesis. I understand that they have a very active support group and at this point you may not feel that is important, but believe me,it is.
Good luck.

Hijack! Hey, Dixie, how are you? If you're like me, you lurk here occassionally.
How is school going for you? My future DIL's mom is in nursing school right now and she said last week as she tried to pin a corsage on me, that she could probably insert a catheter in me easier! I declined and had her just stick with the corsage.
The kids are getting married next Saturday!
I've been really busy with the wedding stuff and my trip to Mayo for the low blood sugar thing. They are 99% sure I have NIPHS - nonisulinoma pancreatogenous hypoglycemic syndrome. I've been on Precose but I'm not tolerating it very well anymore. So, I'm probably going to have to have 70% of my pancreas removed sometime this summer. I just want to be able to eat like a "normal" person again. I'm getting tired of eggs, cottage cheese, protein bars and shakes.
Hope you are doing well!
Hugs

Hi! I am a patient of the Genesis center. I had my lap RNY on 9/25. I have only good things to say about the entire staff of the center. They are caring, professionals who understand the needs of their patients. Feel free to email me if you have more questions...I would love to share my experiences. Good luck! Jill G
Dear K.H.
I went through the Genesis Center and they are just terrific....I felt very cared for and supported.
I had my surgery done in Oct of 05 and have lost over 90 pounds and am keeping it off....the staff at the center are very responsive. I emailed them just this week to ask about iron supplements and I got responses from 3 people!!
I had my surgery on a Monday, was home on Wed. and at the mall on Thursday and back to work the following Monday...
I did have a few complications that I didn't expect, but I am just so happy to be a normal weight that it is worth it to me.
I love to shop and wear a size 4 now plus I can wear high heel for the first time in 20 years! I walk for exercise and am enjoying life.
Write if you have more questions.
