Has anyone ever done this or thinking about doing it? 41 flights up. You can do a half climb, you can walk it you can run it you can run/walk. I am looking at the times from last year and it ranges from 5 minutes to 26 mintues. I can't imagine making it up 41 flights of stairs in 26 minutes, let alone 5. I just wondered if anyone has done this what kind of training/preparation did you do?

I've heard about it and always thought people who did that were a little crazy! I can't imagine doing that in 5 minutes! I climb the 3 flights at work and drag my butt up the last half flight! But then, I'm lazy. I'd need about 26 hours and then a stretcher!

I'm with you give me 26 hours and perhaps! Color me crazy but I am thinking about doing this. At least get a time and then in 2008 work to beat it. However, I think I may only be able to accomplish the half climb! Thats still a lot of freaking stairs!

I have never heard of this but it does sound interesting though. Not sure I am up for it this year but maybe in the future I might be. Keep us posted if you decide to try it out.

Lisa, This sounds hard, but fun.... I can't believe admitting to it, but I actually like to get a "wringing out the shirt" kinda sweat going. Does this take place somewher inparticular? I'd like to do a 5K this spring too.... have you ever done one? Janie

it's held in Des Moines at the 801 Grand building. This link is to the registration website, check it out. http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/e01/team.jsp?id=1324&tid=1423 no running for this chick, at least not yet. Maybe someday, sooner than later. I have been doing a lot more things that I never envisioned doing before, so yes someday running will be on that list. Right now I am way to clumsy and awkward. However with the right training program I am sure it would be fine. My trainer has been introducing these type of things so its not such a culture shock to me! Good luck on your 5k!
