Yep, one month today! I am excited to report that I have not had any post op complications! That is the best blessing anyone can ask for. Also, I have lost 22 pounds so far since surgery not couting the 10 I gained in IV fluid. I have lost 70 total though from preop to post. I am happy with this. I will be honest I thought it would be faster, I see some that have lost 22 pounds in two weeks and this mind boggles me. My beginning weight before surgery was 280 so still quite large so I really thought I would have more. But I am not going to get discouraged. I am just going to keep getting in the water (I need to do better) and protien and exercise and vitamins. It should come off. I am at 258 now and want to be 250 by the time I go back to work on Jan 15th, not sure I will make it but ya never know. I have only lost 5 pounds since Christmas Eve so I would have to really pick up the pace to meet that goal. Well, tomorrow is my 30th birthday also, I am so glad I gave myself the best birthday present ever! Have a good day everyone!! Hugs, Melissa

Congrats Melissa!! Glad to hear you have not had any complications. Do not get discouraged on the weight loss. Mine went a lot slower than I expected too. Hang in there and you might want to hide the scale for a while. I was on it all the time and it was moving very slowly. LOL I started at 247 and now weigh 158. I would like to lose about 10 more pounds, but if I don't I'm happy with where I am. You can do it!! Great job so far!! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hugs, Barb

I think that the average loss is 20 lbs a month in those first few months post op. You are right on schedule. GOOD FOR YOU!! jean
