Still around..
I cant believe how time has flown by! Its been about 2 1/2 months since surgery and the weight loss is slowing down a little bit. I dont think I lost any last week, but lost 2 lbs over night on Sunday. So my total so far is 65 lbs. I'm still happy with that. My exercising has slowed down as well. I am so busy with my work, kids, and new boyfriend and his family that I havent made time to get exercising in the past week or so. I have to admit though I am so happy and really do not know the last time I was this happy.
I have also realized when I sit down to eat supper with the families (boyfriend, his kids, and my kids) I tend to eat too fast and WOW..does that hurt! I had some casserole the other day and ate too fast and it got stuck. I hate that feeling. I am still learning though!
I have also come to realize that I miss my fat blanket. I am so cold all the time now its not even funny. I NEVER wore long sleeved shirts or sweaters before, but I am sure stocking up on them now! (Goodwill has some good cheap sweaters by the way).
Well I started making Christmas cookies the other day and it wasnt too bad. I did have one cookie (Peanut butter ball) and I didnt get sick (hmm..maybe thats not a good thing). I have more baking to do this weekend.
I am still struggling with my vitamins. I will do good for a day and then forget the next day, etc. I got some calcium chewables from bariatric advantage as I was having such a hard time swallowing the other pills. They have three flavors and right now I'm taking cinnamon. (Tastes like Big Red gum). I wish there was a way to take one pill for calcium instead of so many throughout the day.
Well other than that, I am here and still alive I am sorry I do not pop in very often. Maybe after the holidays things will slow down for me.
Janine
I can so relate on the cold and being cold 100% of the time. Glad to hear things are going so well for you.
I was looking at those calcium chewables from bariatric advantage but did not venture to buy any yet. I also have a hard time with swallowing pills and crush up the iron and put it in something so it sits easier on the new pouch.
Hope to hear from you again soon.
Deanne
I'm still cold all the time and I am two years out. Not sure if it ever gets "normal", or maybe this *is* normal for thin people to be cold in the winter. It only stands to reason that because we don't have the extra layers of insulation (FAT!), that we would be colder than fat people. So, OK, this is a 'side effect" of weight loss that I am willing to deal with, how about you, Janine? .
Glad to hear you are doing so well. Don't forget about us old folks on the OH boards. We like to hear from eachother from time to time.
hugs, jean
