newbie

Hello I am a newbie, I have just finished up with the 6 months on a diet program actually I have done almost 11 months lost 18 pounds then did the same thing that seems to always happen the loss stopped. I am getting my paper work this week then my medical records so hopefully next week we can get the ball rolling. I have been talking with the staff at Genesis East in Davenport I believe her name is Theresa I think anyway she has been extremely helpful. Has anyone has surgery there or have any information as to where things go next. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brenda welcome I hope all goes well for you. I had my surgery done in Grinnell. The most stressful thing is waiting for insurance approval I do hope everything goes smoothly for you. I had a struggle to get approved but I am glad I never gave up. I weighed 421 before surgery I had no life I am 260 and feel great. Keep in touch and let us know how everything goes with you Lavonda

Hi my name is denise Hemmie and I had mine done there and they are great people my surgeon was Dr Phelps loved him Im still going up there cause I was one of the unfortunate one that got a tiny leak and they have taken real good care of me you will love them they know what they are doing so good luck.

Thank you for your respnce I am so excited and I know I am just at the top of the rollercoaster but it is starting to move. I talked with Genesis East today and have my first appointment on Monday with the Nurse then on the 28th with the Nutritionist and the 1st of December with the Psy. Okay help me out here it is my understanding after that then everything goes to the Insurance company is that right?

Hi!!!! I read you are switching hospitals.. how's that going? I am considering switching to U of I but not sure because it's so long just to get an appt. I finally have health insurance that will cover it and I'm pumped. Hope to talk to you soon!
