Hello everyone! I'm Melissa and I am new to the site so wanted to say hello and meet some of you folks. I have been reading a ton of good information from you all....WOW! I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Smolik on October 31st. It is fast approaching and I am a little nervous now that it is getting so close. Any suggestions on the best tasting protein? That is going to be tough for me but I will do it.....I don't want to get sick or lose my more than waist length hair....... I currently have Choc Isopure powder and one bottle of each of the following flavors of the liquid Isopure.....Pinapple Orange Banana, Grape Frost, Orange Creamsicle, Blue Raspberry, Apple Melon, and Fruit Punch something......Any thoughts on any of these would be appreciated. Hoping to hear from you all soon! Mel

Welcome! I recently had surgery on Oct 2nd with Dr Cahalan and surgery will be here before you know it but it is so worth it in the long run. ****ep wondering why I did not do it soon!) I do the Choc Unjury. I mix it with warm water and it taste like hot choc to me. It is the only protein that I can handle right now as everything else makes me gag. I could not do the Isopure before surgery but I bought some of the liquid bottles for after and have only drank 1/2 of 1. I also had a sample of the Strawberry Sorbet Unjury and it was not to bad either...tasted to me like watered down jello. If you have any other questions feel free to email me. Keep us posted on your progress. Deanne

HI Melissa!! I had my surgery with Dr. Smolik on 9/26 and I am so glad I did it! Try not to think about it and you'll be on the losing side before you know it!! I have the Strawberry and Dutch Chocolate Isopure. I also have the unflavored unjury. I really like the Dutch Chocolate Isopure and drink my 12 oz every morning. Its my sweet treat I throw some ice cubes in it to keep it chilled longer. I also liked the strawberry. I think it takes like a slim fast shake. Good luck and keep us posted!! Janine

Thanks for the info ladies.....I'm sure it will be a big help to me. Janine, how are you feeling? I read in a previous post that you were not doing so well for a few days, I hope you are doing much better now. Melissa

Melissa I am feeling very well!! I did get an infection where my JP drain was but they were able to go in and clean it up and I have been feeling absolutely wonderful for a week now! IF that is my only major hurdle, than I am very grateful! Janine

I wanted to welcome you and tell you good luck of Oct 31st. Dr Smolik was also my surgeon and he was great!!! Now the hair thing is pretty hard. My hair was really long and I was losing so much hair. I finally got it cut. I love it short now and always thought I couldn't do short hair before. I'm not saying you will lose a lot just saying if you have to cut it it's not that bad. Now for the protein I liked the per mixed Isopure. It is a little more money so I do not recommend using that for your main source of protein. Before you know it you are going to be on the losing side. Take care and I'll keep you in my prayers!!!
