Just a lil update.

still here and still kicking it. The infection area still hurts like a muther but I know it will heal (It has to right???). The home nurse that comes in twice a day to repack it says it looks good and it can take up to 3 weeks to heal (not what I wanted to hear). Last night I had my first bout with nausea and I dont know why. My mouth got all watery and I felt like i was going to throw up (and who KNOWS how bad that would have hurt) but it stopped. It was wierd. I'm extremely tired today and I feel so full. I have already gotten 28 oz of water in me today and I sometimes feel a little better after pushing that into me. I can't seem to find any bursts of energy anywhere and walking is nearly impossible except for around my house. Well I hope everyone else is doing okay and has anyone heard from Blake or Phil???? Those two have been very quiet lately and just hoping everything is going okay. Janine~

I saw Phil yesterday when I went in for my 6 week check up. He looks great seems to be doing fine. Janine do you tihnk you will be at the support group meeting next week?

Glad to hear that you are feeling a little bit better. I hope that things continue to do so. Wonder where the nausea would come from since you are not eating and everything is going in that tube. Keep us posted on your progress. Take care~~ Deanne

Janine, if you are still taking the liquid Lortab for pain, that might be causing your nausea. It creates a histimine release and the mucous created in your pouch makes you feel like puking. If it bothers you a lot, try taking a dose of liquid Benedryl. That will reduce that mucous and you won't feel like hurling. I know it's wierd, but it works. jean

Jean can I take that Benedryl through my tube? I went to Nobbies tonight with my kids and thank god my friend was there because I got so sick..a lil nauseated sick, pain sick, etc. I feel like I have massage hunger pains and it hurts. I feel so tired and blah I hate it. I had more energy before I knew of the infection... j

I forgot you had to take everything through the gastric tube right now. Call the weight reduction clinic and ask Susan or Patty. It is Friday and you don't want to be stuck wretching all weekend and miserable. I am just betting that if you can get some kind of sudafed or benedryl or something into your system the puking will stop and you will start feeling a little better. I am sure you can shoot that benedryl through your tube, but call them and ask. I'll be thinking about you, because I know so very very well that dry heaving feeling that goes along with the mucous in the pouch feeling. Oh man, bad memories. Hang in there. This will get resolved. jean

Janine, Just wanted to say hi and glad to hear you are feeling better! I understand about the 'packing' thing. I had my tummy tuck and arms done about 7 weeks ago a few weeks after surgery I had a spot open up on my incision right below my belly button.. needless to say it drained and 11 days ago I got a horrible fever and ended up in the ER and found out I had acquired an abcess.. Luckily my surgeon said it was ok for hubby to pack it, he's done an awesome job by the way, and today it looks so awesome hopefully a few more days and it will be completely closed! Give it time it WILL heal, faster than you think! As far as the energy thing, keep your head up, it WILL get better I promise. I didn't exactly eat 'right' for about 4 months. There are still days I feel like I could just drop over but I just sit down and relax for awhile and get my mind set that I'm gonna get up and do something and I do...most of the time! Will be thinking of you and hope you have a speedy recovery, regardless of the times I've thought.. 'what in the world have I done to myself'.. it's still worth it! Best of luck..
