that Mercy Capital has wireless internet?? I ended up calling an ambulance yesterday due to the extreme stomach pain by my tube and they took me to the ER. I ended up with a fever, high white blood count and we wont even talk about my blood pressure! They kept me overnight and havent really figured out what the problem is. They did remove the JP drain today, but I am still having the pain and spiked another fever this evening. However my white blood count is back to normal which is good. So yeah..life has been miserab le the past couple of days. I did find out the weekend staff at Mercy Capital Surgurical floor is MUCH better than the weekday staff!!! janine

oh my Janine, are you home now? I hope all is better. What are they doing about your pain? I spent the night at Mercy Main last night. What an ordeal. Let's just say I am not impressed by any means with Dr. Cahallan. In fact if I have to be treated by him for any reason I think I would go somewhere else or risk death! I have to have an upper GI sometime next week to see if the opening at the bottom of my new pouch is ok or if it needs dilated. Cross your fingers.

No Lisa I am still in the hospital. I have been (or was) in miserable pain all afternoon because they put this wick in my drainage hole to keep it up in case there was an infection in it. Well lets just say everytime i moved or tried to get up it was more painful than having the tube in. They removed it tonight so I could sleep, but I dont think I am letting them put it back in. I still have my fever, but my blood count is low so that is ok. Sorry to hear about your pouch.. They say the first 3 mos suck...is it month 4 for us yet? HEHEHHEE....i'll hang in there if you can!!! janine

well that sucks that you are still there. I hope your pain gets better and you can get the heck out of there. It sounds like things are improving as far as your bllod count goes, how about your blood pressure? As far as the pain goes, I think I have decided I am going to have some sort of pain all my life that is just part of it. I only wish I was4 months out! I am half way there! We are strong we will make it. Keep me posted on how things are going!

Oh man janine....I know I've said it before, but here it is again.....you should not have such extreme pain like that from the G-tube or JP tube site. I bet a million bucks you have an infection. I so well remember that excrutiating pain. It was almost like they didn't believe me that I was in so much pain, because *most* people don't have that. Well, you do when you have a blankey-blank infection. I took lortab for months due to that pain and of course that caused other problems. All I can say is hang on. Once you guys all get past this crap you will be so grateful. I know this sucks. How well I know. Just hang on. And for whatever it's worth.....I can't remember who your dr is, but if it is Smolik, you are in good hands. He was awsome to me when I was so sick. jean

I'm so sorry to hear this. I so hope they get you better soon. All I can say is hang in there and don't be quite if your in pain let them know. The tubes should not be that painful. I was uncomfortable put never real pain. I hope they figure it out soon for you. Keep us updated and I'll be saying an extra prayer for you today.

I hope that you both can get the relief you need. I am not in that much pain at all...knocking on wood...and I am a week out today. I really have not taken much pain medicine the past few days. I hope that they can figure out what is wrong with you both, Janine and Lisa. Sorry about the bad experience with Dr Cahalan...he was my surgeon and I never did see that side of him...maybe he was having a bad day and by no means if that is the case should he of taken it out on you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Deanne

Hi Janine..I am sorry,that your having so much pain...I kinda know..I am so ready for these staples and things to come out..I can't lie down yet..and IF I should move wrong,they pull and have had 2 start to bleed..My pain isn't very bad..I haven't taken any pain meds for about 5 days..But that doesn't mean,I don't have any..I just can't wait to be able to move without,feeling like,my insides are being pulled out..I did get my J-Tube out last thursday...I see Smolik this wednesday..IF your still in the hospital,I will stop and see you.....I pray that your feeling better today..And that they have figured out,whats going on..So you can get to feeling better,and be able to go home and be with your kids.....Hugsss to You..Pls Take care....Taphney
