Wow..

reading the past few messages has really been great. It is great that there is such a support group here and everyone cares so much about everyone else. It seems like some of you from a few years ago are really close and wonder about each other. I hope that happens with the new group of us. The ones that just had it or are going to have it in the next few months. I know there are a couple on here that I already feel close too and am looking forward to going through this life changing journey with. As for my current situation..I called the sleep study again today (left a message yesterday and no call) and I talked to Karen today. She said that something is either wrong with my sleep study or they need something clarified on it..either by Dr. Fleugal or by ?? I was told the Medical Director needed to talk to Dr. Fleugal and they have not had a chance to get together. I also got a call from Patty Nance yesterday and was told about the same thing. So I will call Patty tomorrow and the sleep study on Friday. I'm going to call them everyday until I find out what the problem is. The doctor's in Ames said everything was fine with my sleep study so I dont understand what the problem is. UGHHHH.. okay..well thats it for my 2 cents...hope everyone is having a good week... I also feel like the support on here is wonderful pre-op and post-op. I really like hearing everyone's stories and how they have accomplished so much since surgery...it is very comforting that my thoughts are really like others. The waiting part is the hardest for me...I try not to think about it so much sometimes that is all I do is think about the WLS. Deanne

Ok..update..Dr.Fleugals office called me tonight and she wants to see me. BUT she wanted to schedule me for a 30 min appt and they dont have any of those until OCTOBER!! I begged her to Dr. Fleugal to see if they can get me in a 15 min appt in the next month. So..I hope to hear something tomorrow. Janine

Can't you go with a different doctor? Mercy Capitol did my surgery but I used Dr. Zorn for my sleep study stuff. I never had to wait more than a couple of weeks to be seen by him.

Cindy, I had my sleep study done in April at Ames Mary Greeley Sleep Study. I'm not sure what the problem is with the study, but something must be.

WOW Janine! I know how you feel, the frustration with tryig to get things at work settled then at home and not knowing when you will be having surgery drives you nuts. I was there not to long ago, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I promise. Don't give up though, youhave come this far.

Man I'm so sorry your having such a hard time with the sleep study. I hope they get back to you soon. I know how it is to want the date. I'm sure you have plans to make depending on the date they give you. Keep us updated on the process, and what happens. I can't wait to see you post that you have a date!!!

Janine, I'm just curious, when is your insurance approval up? Will you need to try to get an extension? Phil

Phil, My insurance approval is good til 1/17/07. But I would prefer not to wait that long. I'm sure I wont, but i still think its riduculous the hoops I have to go through. The doctor at the sleep study in Ames said I am fine and no sleep apnea. So what could be the problem???
