Hi Cindy,
I too had Myrie for a surgeon in 2003. I do not have the ulcer problems you do, but have had thoughts of an enlarged stoma or other problem. Dr. Myrie hasn't seen me since I was (I think) 9 months out. I got the impression that since I wasn't already at goal, he didn't want to deal with me. And I have struggled ever since.
I hope they find out what is wrong and you are able to get it fixed. Please let me know. It might be something I need to have checked also. And feel free to email me if you would like.

He is still a general surgeon at Methodist in DSM. Although he doesn't do WLS anymore. Aftercare?? LOL IF you can break through the "clicks" that have formed from some of the patients there, I guess they do have one at the hospital every so often. I really don't know because I was never told about it, I learned about it through here at OH. I have never been to a support group meeting and the only time I have seen a dietician or nutritionist was for my pre-op stuff. I would have to go back and read my own profile, but I bet I didn't see him more than 4 or 5 times post op. Just trying to get an appointment was a nightmare.
I think I am doing better overall NOW than I was at one year out. It is going to take a while, but eventually I will at least get to "one"derland. I have gotten a good grip now so hanging on is getting easier. LOL
Thanks,
Elizabeth
