Finally got my walking in..
Okay well I finally got my butt out and went walking last night. I got out of class a little early so I drove home and got my 17 mos old son ready and we headed out for a walk/stroll. It was about 8:30 and it was still kind of muggy with a little breeze. I got home around 9:15 and I felt great!!! Of course than I was wide awake so I got on the computer and played around after the kids went to bed. When I finally laid down at 11:00 p.m. I thought hmmm I should get up at 4:30 and go for a walk again. WHAT WAS I THNKING!! Well guess who DID NOT GET UP at 4:30!! ME
I am going to head to our inside track at lunch time today and walk around that. I need to start getting more motivated. We have two big buildings here at FB and I think everytime I get up to go to the bathroom I am going to make a couple of laps around my building. Its not real big but should take about 5-10 minutes if I do it every time I use the bathroom.
HEY...for those that have already had it done, what do you recommend I start doing so I can get better in the routine for things? I have started taking my vitamins every day (no not the chewables yet) and I'm trying to get my water in, but I am terrible at measuring how much I should have. What else should I be doing?
Ok, i have to get to work now..Thanks for your time!

Good for you that you did get your walking in. I also have been walking (of course not outside) on the treadmill at the clubhouse that my boss owns for 45 minutes daily. It feels a lot better when I do it then if I do not.
Sorry I can not help you with the stuff for after as I am a little behind you.
You will have to let me know what you find out.

Janine, in the couple of weeks right ahead of my surgery, I just used the time to focus on NOT gaining anymore weight. I really wanted my RNY to be lap, so i made sure to eat as low fat as possible in order to not stress my liver. Because, if your liver is too big and heavy from overeating, it could cause them to have to do an open procedure and i did not want that. So, I just focused my eating on low, low fat as possible.
As far as vitamins and all that crap, just do the best you can. Your life is going to change dramatically after surgery and all this stuff we take for granted (swallowing a handful of vitamins) will be a whole new ballgame. It seems like a fulltime job in the beginning, just to get the vitamins and medications down all in one day. I don't think there is any specific way to prepare for that.
Did you get a date yet?
