Plastic Surgery?

I am scheduling surgery with the Iowa City Plastic Surgeons. I live in Missouri, but have heard great things about these surgeons. Anyone have first hand experience with them? What are your thoughts? Any advice? My plan is to have the beltipectomy first and then 3-4 months later, an upper body lift.

I don't have any experience with Iowa City, but I am scheduled for a panniculectomy in Sept. with Dr. Bergman in Des Moines. http://www.bergmancosmeticsurgery.com/drbergman.html jean

While I haven't had surgery with Drs. Ali or Cram, my WLS doc is very impressed with their work. They are the only ones to go to if you need the whole thing done. I've seen their video and it was impressive. Good luck!

Well, from all my research online I was impressed. But then I went there. They told me, after at least 5 calls there getting information, that the visit and surgery should be approved by BCBS insurance. actually, that it WOULD be. I get there, and they want 100$ to see the doc. just for an eval. um, ok, no. Then, they went on to finally get him to just give me a "free" consult, in which he told me I was dreaming, and (I am working on getting my thighs done, already had a belt lipectomy at Grinnell) that my other surgeons butcher ppl, and that if I wanted to have the thighs done, I would need at least 2-3 rounds of liposuctoin, then maybe we could do it, or at least I needed to lose over 50 lbs more. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience!!! wouldnt even talk about it for days. Staff was rude, ugh. never again Thank GOD I found Dr. Coster, when I went back to Grinnell, and they started taking Blue Access, part of BCBS, so I could go back there, and he took one look at my legs, said he had never seen any so bad, and that I was one of the BEST candidates he had seen for thighs in a long time. They are working very hard now to appeal and get my surgery approved. *sighs* Good luck to you, will be interesting to hear what they say to you Judi
