This board is just too slow right now

Isn't it strange that at times this board gets very quiet? I suppose it's the nice weather. Nothing much has changed for me lately. My sister is still in critical condition at Iowa City & I've been spending weekends with her. We are finally seeing some improvement & she moved from ICU to a step down pulmonary unit. We hope she'll be breathing on her own soon. I am taking a weekend to have fun next week. I'll be attending the Iowa Scrappers annual scrapbook retreat. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll have to work on Friday night so I'll be leaving here at 1:30AM Sat & will miss the fun on Friday night. This year it's in Iowa City so I'll be able to visit Jeanne also. I was supposed to start nursing school last Monday but my stupid job is not done yet & I haven't been laid off. I can't afford to just quit. I need my severance pay so have to wait for them to let me go. It looks like it won't happen until late Sept now as they have to give us 60 days notice. That will be just in time for me to start classes in early October. It's probably good that I didn't start as I wouldn't have time to spend weekends with Jeanne if I were in school. So, what's going on in your lives? Dixie

Hey Dixie sounds like you are so busy right now. Me I'm working on this diet I have to start I feel like I'm starving I have to eat every 3 hours but I still feel hungry I'm just use to eating all the time because I'm starting this diet to loose weight to be able to get the surgery done in the first place. But it's hard cause I'm so hungry. Other than that I haven't been doing much I aint going outside it's way to hot, lol it's going to be extremely hot here this weekend in Davenport almost 100 sunday it's suppose to be 98. I'm not even going to look outside thats to hot for me lol. Anyways hope you have fun at your scrapbooking event. Keep in touch hope your sister gets better, bye bye. DeeDee

This board has been really slow lately!!! Well yesterday was my 1 year anniversary!!! I'm at goal 170 with a BMI of normal. My doctor was very happy with my weight. Now the hard part starts. MAINTAINING!!! I wouldn't mine losing another 10 pounds but the doctor said I don't need to. So I will keep trying to lose 10 more just to have some leeway. Because when the scale says 171 I go crazy. I try and not weight everyday but when I do and it shows 171 I get upset. Well this weekend is going to be HOT HOT HOT. I'm going to swim Saturday and Sunday. I'm going to the concert this weekend with Tim and Faith. That should be fun!!! That was my gift to myself to celebrate my 1 year anniversary and making it to my goal!!! I'm going with another girl who I met on this board. We are going to have a blast. I am still around. Been very busy with all that is going on in my life. They called and had to reschedule my surgeons appt now it is on Aug 1st, sleep study on the 4th and pshyc evaluation on the 9th so that will keep me busy. I am getting things ready for a garage sale on the last weekend of the month. My boys have so many clothes that they have out grown it is not even funny. I plan on staying inside and getting my house cleaned if it suppose to be that hot this weekend. I hope that everyone keeps cool this weekend. Deanne
