What were your 4th of July plans...

We didn't have any until Monday night. We decided we would load up our canoe and kids and go to Peterson Park north of Ames and have some fun. We had a BLAST!! Hubby took the two girls and our son (8,6,and 17 mos) out canoeing (I figured I would stay close to the beach) and they loved it. Especially my oldest daughter! We went swimming and had a picnic on the beach. We were there for 4 1/2 hours. I realized I don't have quite full function of my achilles yet as i couldn't quite "flip it" while trying to swim. So I couldn't go in very deep water as I couldn't tread or anything. Unforntately, my husband and I got FRIED!! We look like lobsters! The kids are fine as I put plenty of sunscreen on them, but do you think we put any on ourselves? DUH..stupid! I have a spot on my arm which isn't burned as one of my children must have touched me and their sunscreen rubbed off on to me. Live and learn I guess! Sounds like you had a lot of fun....I didn't do anything for the 4th my husband, daughter and I stayed home. We watched some pretty good fireworks from our apartment balcony so my daughter really liked that. But I'm glad that you and your family had a good time...Later

We were in that mad crowd at the I-cubs game, but the I-cubs won and the fireworks were fabulous.

Just think Janine.....a year from now, NEXT fourth of July, you could be at your goal weight and looking and feeling FABULOUS!!!! Imagine yourself in that bathing suit out canoeing exactly one year from now. You cannot even imagine what life will be like for you in 12 months. It is an amazing and completely WILD ride, so hang on!!! jean

Sounds like you had a blast!!! I had my family over for a grill out, and we went swimming in our pool. I was a blast.
