Home - Stricture - Back Home!!

I just wanted to update quick on what happened to me. I had surgery on June 5th and did quite well. I had some swelling at the opening of the pouch, but was able to get fluids in and went home as scheduled. Sadly, the 'swelling' decided to heal in a closing pattern. LOL!! So, by the time I went to my two week appt. I was severely dehydrated, the restriction (a stricture) was less than 1mm, and I was immedietly admitted to the hospital. Yippie!! I just got home yesterday from hospital visit #2., and a new 8mm opening. We are hoping that it stays open this time and stretches some...otherwise I will have to go in again. (Standard size is 15mm, in case you didn't know.) Keeping things down is priority #1, and I have to start at Stage One all over again, though I am on the accelerated program this time! LOL!! I hope you are all doing well and things are fine for everyone else in Iowa!!

Great in this part of Iowa.....an hour north of you. Glad to hear all is well now. I hope your opening stays dialated and you don't have to go thru all of that again. At least now you know the symptoms just in case. Best of luck....Take Care jesi

Thanks Jesi! My husband used to own a store up in DBQ...on White St. They shut it down though. Didn't you come down to Davenport and visit with a Surgeon at Genesis about something or other a while back? I could be off in my memory, but I thought that was you. I remember that because Genesis is where my group is..and I use that group of Surgeons.
