Honey.. I'm home!
I got home from my Lap RNY at Mercy Capitol today. I had the surgery at 7:30 on Monday, June 19. I was in ICU until Tuesday morning (req'd for CPAP users) and then down to 3rd floor for recovery. I got out today around 12noon. Nurses and staff were tremendous! Thank god for Jamie in ICU! She was compassionate but pushed me enough to get out of bed and learn how empty all of my drains and business hanging out of me...
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers for me! They were definitely hear and answered!

Congrats Wishing you a super speedy recovery! Like Melissa said.....sip, sip, sip....keeping hydrated is the most important thing you can do. Walking around helps move the gas and gets you to feeling better, but you have to take it easy too. The protein and all of that will come in time! Did you go home with JP drains? I did, they aren't bad at all......just gotta drain them. I always tucked them into my panties or pinned them the my pants waist. And when in the shower I would tuck them under my boobs sorry TMI. Keep us posted on how your doing, tho I can tell ya I might get jealous as men lose so much faster than woman! Take Care and CONGRATS again! jesi
Thanks everyone! Jesi I'll try to take your ideas to heart. I can handle the tucking "under my boobs" part but I don't have any panties on hand to work with
I've got the gas oving but no BM yet...And I am a little concerned cuz my JP drain stl isn't tapering off in amount. I'm back in on Tuesday for a checkup so I am hoping I can get it out then.
thanks all

The BM will come....but if your still doing liquids, there probably isn't anything to really come out.....ya know? As long as the fluids in the JP drains aren't bright red, your probably doing great. Some of us are just fluid producers, whether we like it or not! I had my JP drains in for 14 days I think.....and they were still draining when they came out, but had cut back. Just think at least with the drains the fluid has some place to go.....without them you'd be full and bloated. After my P.S. I had the drains again and when they came out I developed a nasty fluid pocket (seroma) that I had to go into the office and have drained every couple weeks....hated that. Some of us are just lucky that way I guess (NOT ) Keep up the great work.....and sorry your out of panties Take Care jesi
