Well my RN visit is tomorrow. I'm still kind of laid up as I had my cast removed on Monday but I am in a walking boot for 4 more weeks. I am only suppose to be putting partial weight on my foot right now, but I'm not very good at doing that. I am trying to stay off of it as much as possible though. Well I hope things go well tomorrow and I cant wait til they send my info into my insurance company. Janine

Janine, I too will be at Mercy Capital tomorrow at 1:15 pm. I am hoping for good things from this meeting. I can not wait till they send in my info as well to the insurance company. What a great day that will be and even better when they send me the approval letter that I am hoping for. Maybe I will see you tomorrow if this is the same thing that you are going to. Deanne

Deanne, Yes I have had my sleep study and my psych eval. If you check out my profile it will tell you where I am. I think all I have is the RN visit, the dietician and surgeon visit left. (As long as insurance approves it all).

Sorry I did not get a chance to read your pofile when I posted that reply yesterday. You are further ahead in the process than I am right now. I have my last month of supervised diets weigh in next month and the sleep and pshyc evaluation both in Aug. I hope from there they can submit it to the insurance as per Mel was telling me on the phone last week. I will see you in a few hours. Deanne

Deanne, I have this feeling my insurance will deny me because I have not been on a doctor supervised diet for the past year. But I guess if that is the case than I will get on it and check it out again next year Janine

Well we had the RN visit yesterday. It was kind of an overview of things I already knew and had researched on the web or my Gastric Bypass for Dummies book. (Yes I did buy it!). I have my Pre OP Diet and Exercise class on Tuesday June 20th. Then after that I get my surgeon appointment, which sounds like it might be a while for that. I'm looking forward to the Diet and Exercise information just so I can get a better feel of what we are suppose to eat right afterwards on up to the first 6 months. They said that we have to show proof of purchse of a two months supply of protein, and vitamins before the surgery. I've heard of so many different types of protein shakes, I just hate to buy the big canisters and then not like them at all. Yesterday Susan showed us this variety pack of 20 packages for $38.00. Seemed pretty pricey, but maybe that is the way to go. I was also interested in the Isopure already mixed drinks. Anyone else try these? How about Prostat? I didn't seem to mind the cherry flavored Prostat but the Butter Rum was NASTY!!! Is there a place/forum that has information/comments/etc about the protein shakes? I saw someone post about Sams Club. We go there frequently so maybe this would be a good place? Janine

Janine, They are going to push you at Mercy Capitol to do the Ispoure shakes. The Prostat is for people *****ally can't get protein down and it's a last resort. I bought a 12 lb tub of Ispure powder at GNC for $80.00 (I joined the Gold Club for $15. ) Also they are going to make sure you get the Bugs Bunny Chewable sugar free vitamins. I searched all over and finally had to order them at drugstore.com.
