Appeals and BCBS

I know a lot of you have probably dealt with appeals either for gastric bypass, panni's or others. How did it work? And how long did it take. I am going back thru Grinnell again, they have agreed that they can help me out with my thighs in a 2 part surgery, and of course, the first pre-auth got denied, so now are going thru the appeals process. I have gotten a bunch of stuff from my med chart at work, and getting 2 of my docs to write letters stating I need the surgery and it is NOT cosmetic at all, but I am still worried. Since I am going back thru Grinnell, they are having me see their new PA/NP Stefanie to get her to dictate a great letter and some great dictation regarding my history, so hopefully it wont take too long to get the appeals to go thru, but I am still nervous! I am having them represent me, so they can get them the info that they need. Just nervous, tell me your stories if you dont mind! Judi

Hello~ I never had to deal with appeals so I cannot personally help ya....but post this on the main board with a title of PS APPEAL LETTER HELP and you will get lots of suggestions I am sure, or even on the plastic surgery forum. Take Care and I hope all is well jesi
