doctor visit went wonderful
Today I seen Dr. Costner at Grinnell and he was awesome. I met Stephanie his assistant she is so awesome and cool. It's a go if I can get medicade approval and Dr. C said it should be no problem at all getting that. They made me so at home and were so friendly that it was unbelievable.
Now I can't wait for approval and to get a surgery date I am ready to rock and roll
Oh and has anybody heard of Icopure or something like that it's a protien drink that you get at GNC? They want me to get started on that and vitamens already. Is it nasty to drink or not LOL.
Thanks Tammy
I've never tried Isopure but several have. I like Nectar. It has 90 calories and 23 gms of protein. I especially like the Fuzzy Naval mixed with orange crystal lite. Check out www.bariatriceating.com. You can order samples of different proteins shakes. Just remember not to stock up on any one thing since your tastes might change after surgery. What tastes good now may be gross afterward.
I agree with Lyn. I have tried Isopure and didn't care for it that much. Plus, it is a very expensive way to get in protein. It is at least a couple bucks a bottle, and that adds up FAST. If you were to get a tub of protein powder, it might seem expensive at first ....$20 bucks but it lasts A LOT longer, and tastes A LOT better. Heck you would spend $20 bucks on Isopure easy for like 10days worth. Whereas with the powders they come in either 2lb or 5lbs jugs and you only use one scoop to get that 20+ grams of protein. You can get samples also @ www.allstarhealth.com and or www.drugstore.com. Also email me your address (if you want) and I will send ya some samples of the stuff I like. I took me a LONG time to find a drink I enjoyed. It is funny I was reading on the main board a bit......but I was thinking about posting to your other post to see how your consult went. Glad it all went smoothly & everything looks positive. Wishing you a speedy approval Best of luck & Take Care jesi
I don't mind Isopure. The pre-mixed bottles are kinda of expensive and they have 40g of protein. I drank those before surgery but can hardly tolerate them now. I also bought two variety packs of Isopure powder. It was like $55 for two boxes of 20 each (on ebay) and they have 50g of protein per packet so thats why I chose them, really. I would only have to digest one of those per day. I dont think that I could do more than one protein drink per day. I recently just started being able to digest them. I tried them with milk and they are way better. I decided that I wanted to drink them before I go to work so with that routine, it has been working out. Try setting a time of day that you want to do it, and it might be easier for you. Just a thought!
