First I want to say Congrats to Lisa on her graduation! Then I want to wish Janie well with her recovery I will get some pics to you soon! And anything else that I forgot, sorry!!! My weekend started a little early this week. On thrusday I got a call that my mom was in the hospital.....she had chest pain at work Tuesday night (gets off at 1am) the nurse on duty took her blood pressure and it was something crazy like 190/130 So off to the hospital she went. I went over there Thursday (arranged care for my girls & hubby) They wanted to transfer her to Mason right away but her blood pressure wouldn't stablize and she was puking A LOT (due to pain meds)...so we waited and they transfered her Friday morning. We found out through testing in Charles City that her heart was enlarged and her heart enzymes were high (meaning she had heart damage) Friday morning she was supposed to get her angiogram, but they had like three major emergencies and they didn't get her in until Friday night 9pm.....it was a bad day, with her being miserable & the waiting. She got a terrible headache from the high blood pressure....and since the blood pressure was SO out of whack-she was on a nitro drip which in itself causes headaches. Finally she was out of surgery and the surgeon told us her heart was fine. No blocked arteries (heart or kidneys) She did have some heart damage (nothing to worry about tho-minimal) but he wasn't sure if it was caused by this round of high blood pressure or becuase of a little defect in one of her arteries (probably since birth and again, no cause for concern) So we all breathed easier Friday night. Got home way late....and then headed back to Mason first thing Sat morning. She was feeling a little better but couldn't be released until her blood pressure stablilized better....we stayed the whole day again. I headed home Sun morning as my dad went back to Mason to pick her up, my mom was released on like 10meds Scary. But glad it is over and it was just a case of not controlled BP. She is now gonna stick with a Doc over in Mason to keep her BP in check. She was on meds, but they weren't cutting it apparently. The heart doc kinda gave me a wake up call too.....he said since I have had toxemia and already borderline BP with high pulse that I am headed the same way....not if but when, and I better make health changes now (like no salt, exercise, stuff like that)! We have a family history of BP problems from both sides......yuck! So that was my weekend. My birthday was a bust (Friday) but no big deal....Mothers Day sucked too, Jason and the girls tried to take me out, but everywhere was packed and I was tired. I am just thankful that my mom is okay. It was kinda funny tho on Friday, she said it was kinda ironic how she was in the hospital that same day 28 years ago (giving birth to me) But she would have taken childbirth any day over the other. Then this week is packed full of stuff and my hubby leaves tomorrow at 3:45am for a business trip! I am planning on taking the girls to Charles City next weekend, so the girls can give my mom her presents that we had bought for Mother's Day. I am just glad the weekend is over!! Now I hope this week is a little better So how was eveyone else's weekend? Got any plans this week? Hope all is well with everyone! Take Care jesi

Oh, Jesi, I'm sorry that you had such a crappy birthday & weekend but I'm glad your mother is doing better & that the doctor is on top of things. You take care of yourself. It's scarry when you see your parents ill & even scarrier when you realize that it could happen to you too. I visited Janie on Saturday. She's doing great & looking even better. She was going to return to work today & had a very busy week planned so I don't know if we'll see her posting for a few days. You do know how to make a gal feel old, by the way. Your Mom & I apparently were PG at the same time. Ben, my youngest turned 28 in March. I have a baby shower to attend on Saturday for my future great grandnephew who will be born next month. Boy that makes me feel old too. My sis will be a great grandmother at 59. We also have a couple graduation open houses but probably won't go. If the weather is good, I'm sure the guys will be in the field planting. The weather last week slowed things down so they have to get busy again. I'll be riding the lawn mower. Dixie

Jesi - what a scare with your mom, but glad things are sounding better. Now you'll heed the dr's warning about getting all your ducks in a row too won't you!!!! You'll have to plan a different day to celebrate your birthday and let hubby wine you and dine you then. Yep, I survived and Dixie (bless her heart) came by to see me on Sat. I have a f/u with the dr tomorrow, but everything seems to be going great. I didn't tell my coworker why I was going to be off work, but she made up her own story and told my boss that I was having INPLANTS because I wanted to be a size larger!!!! I about fell off my chair laughing at that one. She hasn't said a word to me about the surgery since I've been back at work. My boss did set her straight that I was getting smaller & not bigger tho. One of these times when you come through Indee give me a call. I'll e-mail you later with a real update on the "girls". Glad to hear things are better with your mom -- we'll keep her in our prayers. Janie
