Thanks Deb!  I'll be waiting to hear how awesome you're doing.  I actually had a little problem yesterday and Dr. Fowler was in Hilo so I drove over to see him.  I can't be happier with my choice to have him as my surgeon.  He calmed all my worries yesterday -- I can say that this is the best decision I've ever made in my life!

Have a great rest of the week and let me know if you have any questions.

I went with Dr. Fowler at Castle. I really liked that he was accessable and that he and his staff are warm and kind.  I am 100 percent pleased with Dr. Fowler. He is excellent and being a nurse myself I know way too much. He was very good about explaining everything and making me feel comfortable. Good luck with your search. Sara

It was not bad it was actually neat. He puts you on a table and you lay flat while he finds the port and access it.  Then the table stands you up and then you drink the barrium while he watches on the x ray and then fills you to restriction.  It took less then 10 minutes and did not hurt.  Hope you are doing well.

Did you ask the HMSA rep if they will cover the procedure out side of Hawaii.  They wouldn't cover mine.  You also know that the $4500 surgeon fee is not covered by HMSA that comes out of your own pocket.  Castle Hospital is now a certified Weight Loss Center of Excellence.

Yea the biggest thing is the money, yea i can probly work it out to go to the mainland if that is my only opition, yet i would prefer to stay here.If Dr. SCHIFF doesnt  work out do u know if Dr. NAKAMURA is taking new patients or does anyone know of a PCP i could call, again ill wait to see what Dr. SCHIFF has to say. I really need this done for myself and family
