Thank you, you totally know how I feel and have had the same journey as me when it comes to life and weight.  You're right, I can't control everything...an easy concept I can live with!  I'm ready, I'm excited and I'm not looking back!  Thank you again, I'm so glad you are all out there to help me!

 Thanks Makena!

Onederland is one of my goals, but my first personal goal was to get out of plus sized clothing... check that one off the list!

I know what you mean by developement and the big chains.  Kind of like we're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't.... big sigh!

Thanks for the well wishes!  Hugs to you and all of your successes.... you're an inspiration to us all!

So glad to hear everything went well for you with your fill.

Wow! 7 pounds from the 100's!!! Is that your first personal goal? I think it's wonderful!! You must be very proud... as you should be!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be in Onderland before you know it!

No Target here on Maui, but we do have a Macy's and there is a Walmart in Kahului. Personally, I could do without all the big chains. I'd rather keep things local, but that's not going to happen, unfortunately. Too much development, in my opinion. Oh well... can't stop progress I suppose!

Continued success, Nicole!
A hui hou!

I feel like Alice.... I'm in Onderland! 7-18-08

 Hi Hawaii Board,

I had my second fill last Thursday.  It went well.  Lisa (LPN) did the fill under Dr. Fowler's instructions.  I was a little nervous to have someone other than Dr. Fowler do it, but it went quite well.  I had no burping issues (like I did on my last fill) and terrific restriction!

The scale has decided to move again and I am a mere 7 pounds away from the 100's!!!  I cannot wait and will be working really hard over spring break to get there!

Had a great trip to Oahu ... shopped and purchased pants in the "normal sized" section of Macy's and spent too much time oooing and ahhing at Target.... us Kona folk are starved for good stores!

Have a great week everyone!

 Aloha Coleen,

I hope by now you are feeling better.  I'm so sorry you've had such a rough time.  I wish there was something we could all do for you, but at least we can send you good and healthy energy to you.

To all our friends, Coleen has been having constant pain, vomiting and inability to hold anything down.  Let's all send her our prayers.

I'm so glad to hear things went so well for you, all things considered!  I thought about you all day and sent you good energy.  I also had a hiatal hernia repaired.  And yesterday (Friday), I've had problems with hiccups.  It only seems to happen when I'm sitting upright but sipping water helps abate it for a while.  I did really well until the flight home.  We'd received some distressing news the night before (right after I was released from the hospital) so I was already out of sorts in the first place, but the cabin pressure made the hernia hurt really bad.  Between that and leftover gas, I was crying most of the flight home.  I retched a couple of times but nothing bad, no blood or anything.  If you can, try sipping water or something that will help to dilute your stomach acid.

So here we are, in the other side.  I keep seeing food commercials on TV and think, "oh, that looks good!"  But my stomach says...not so much.  I feel full and not really craving food.  So I'm happy about that and am looking forward to it continuing.

We're on the road!

Feeling fine,
Barb

Hi Makena!!
Thanks but it's been a struggle for me.  Dr. C tells it like it is and in order for me to make my goals I'm a bit behind and I keep beeting myself up for it.  Other than that, I'm feeling really good and no complications what so ever!!  Enjoying the up's and down's of this awesome journey!!!
Looks like you're almost to goal.....That's so awesome
