Topic: RE: RNY...recovery period?

Hi Malia,

I took 2 weeks off from work. One week was spent in San Francisco and one week to recover from surgery. I was ready to go back to work before the week was up because I was bored and driving my mom crazy.  But that's just me, lol. My friend who had surgery before me took four weeks off just to make sure that she was fully recovered before she went back to work. I think it also depends on what type of work you do. I spend about 60% of the day sitting at a desk and don't do any strenuous lifting so I felt comfortable coming back to work after a week.

Hope this helps.
Ole

Topic: RNY...recovery period?
Hey everyone,

How long was the recovery period for the RNY?  I am a teacher and will need to write lesson plans and find a substitute teacher for my class.

How long till I can go back to work?   I'm trying to plan ahead and need to know how may days to request off from work.   I think my doc (Cirangle) said that I can go back in a week, but I'm not sure if I'm getting that mixed up with the Lap-Band surgery.

Mahalo,

Nicole,
Thanks for your posting. God must have been whispering in your ear.  I have finally discovered that I am a work addict.  I have not been losing any weight for about 3+ weeks and my exercise has suffered.   I love work and don;t even realize how much I let it take over my whole life.  I have decided to cut back my hours this summer and spend more time on me.  I am also going through my budget and seeing where I can cut to live and work less.  I will share any tips I find.  Good luck to you and thanks for your post.   Sara

Thanks for everyone's support.  Yes, Asia, my husband as an awesome job... unfortunately I have an awesome habbit of spending every cent!!  I've been good though... cut out a lot of expenses and am looking for more ways to trim the budget.

I know we'll be fine, but you know, when it rains it pours.  Yesterday we went to the beach and someone hit my truck while it was parked... no note left, so I guess that's for me to pay for hu?

Our DVD player broke last night so I guess I can cancel the Netflix membership now (haha).

I'm going to Hilo tomorrow to see Dr. Fowler, so at least I have that to look forward to!  Maybe he'll give me a fill and the weight will start dropping again.  God knows I'm eating next to nothing and exercising for an hour a day!  Sigh!

Have a good day everyone!

I have to admit that when I saw her walk on stage that I thought. OMG not another lady that thinks she can sing.  When she opened her mouth it was a voice of an angel.  I loved how she put me in my place too.

I am so glad you could do this.  If I did such a thing I would lose everything including the kitchen sink.  Your dh must have a great job.

Aloha,
Asia
