Hello,

So excited for you and your up coming surgery!  My weight loss(98 pounds so far and another 42 to go) has completely changed my life.  I can understand your concern about losing too much weight but I can assure you, your body will find it's new normal and it will look great on you!  I have recently discovered that although by scale is not moving but I losing inches like crazy.  It is wonderful that you have a 'surgery buddy', it is so nice to be able to have someone to bounce your thoughts off of!  Any trust me your thoughts can get crazy.

Wishing you the very best and keep me updated on your surgery.

Hi, I live on Oahu.  i have not had my surgery yet, I will be having surgery either in April or May. This is based on my work schedule and my "support" person's availablity to get to the island.  I have to say I am nervous.  I am excited, but nervous too.  I worry a little about lossing too much weight.  I am about 209.  If i lost 100 lbs, I would be 109 lobs...lol. I cant have that. lol. I would like 140...but I see everyone going into the mid 20's.  I am so blessed to have met a friend here in Hawaii and we are on schedule to have surgery at around the same time.so we plan to try to have it the same day or very close together.  She's the best friend.
Orientation: October 2010
Nutrition: January 2011
Pych evaluation: March 2011

Start weight: 228

Dr. Cirangle is great and the hospital pays for you to go to SF to have the surgery, it was a nice vacation.

 Aloha,
From what I understand the surgery costs about the same with Dr. Cirangle and you do have to go to San Francisco for the surgery for the same reasons. I hear Dr. Cirangle is amazing!

To those of you in Hawaii are working with Dr. Clingle.  Do you have to go to California for surgery?  How much does he charge?

I was surprised when I finally reached Dr. Fiengold that I would have to go to California to get surgery.
According to his coordinator the Hawaii hospitals are not good enough.  Dr Fiengold wants 17000$ and I have to fly to california..

Hi Carmen;
I haven't checked in an a while, so I thought I would write since your post was just a few weeks back.
Hope your appointment went well.

I had surgery with Dr C.  I am happy to share what I experienced and offer what I can.
I made my goal this past summer, so happy with the WL results.  I have some other concerns and personal issues i have been facing but really excited about my new life.

Hope your consultation was informative and offered you what you were looking for.

Best,
Mia

Topic: RE: Support Group Meeting Pahoa 9/24/10 - All Welcome
Hi Marcy,  I just had my surgery on Nov 9, 2010 and I am looking for a support group in my area.  Although my husband is doing a good job I would like to start to talk to people in my situation and get ideas from them.  Please let me know if you are planning another meeting anytime in the future.  I would love to meet the group and begin to participate. I live in HPP and can make it to the meetings.

Thank you Loretta
