For home. I didn't have a recliner, but I went to a rent a center & rented a nice big one for 3 weeks and am so glad I did. I did all of my laundry, bought anything needed for my post surgery diet, prepaid some bills & just took care of anything that I wouldn't be able to take care or no one else could take of for me during my recovery.
Good luck to you & your sis!
I used to live in Honolulu, back in the day when Outrigger rez was still at the East, but have not lost my love for Hawaii or local food. Hopefully to be there in November, but I still fix food myself when I have a craving, so don't want to wait till then.
So, I am having really bad cravings for local food right now, but won't be eating regular food again until the end of next month. So, my question is to everyone what was tolerable to you at how far out. I.e. were you able to eat rice early in? Is terri chicken or katsu now a no go forever? Loco moco, sweet & sour pork hawaiian style (as the mainland sweet & sour is not the same!)? Is panko or mochiko flour a problem for anyone? Aloha shoyu tolerable?
Can anyone advise what is good during the pureed/soft food stage?
I look forward to your answers as they will be very helpful!

I'm so impressed at your weight loss! Holy Cow! And to already be off BP meds and blood sugar stabilizing is amazing. Great work!
I can relate with you so much on the mental part. Maybe it's okay to be unfriendly to men if you aren't in the mood for their attention. Right now is your time so take advantage of it. You've been through a huge change and need time to assimilate it all.
I'm glad you mentioned the aggressive feelings because I've felt that way as well. I attributed it to all the crap that happened to my partner right after I got out of the hospital. I wanted to rip people's heads off. But I'm still feeling somewhat that way. Interesting. From a Chinese medicine perspective, the liver holds anger so I'm wondering if the surgery and consequent weight loss effect the energy in the liver causing it to release anger. This is a good thing because most if not all of us who are or have been obese have stuffed so many feelings for so long that a shift happens with the surgery and the feelings get unplugged. Just a theory but your statement sure was thought provoking.
Again, I'm so happy with your progress. I need to hear myself say this, but it's always good to look at the positives that have happened rather than lament about the excess skin. (Barb, are you listening to yourself???)
Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I really appreciate everything you said and my mother has come around. I am approx 3 days post and i feel like absolute pooy. But reading the other posts i know it is bound to get better!!
Thank you all so very much...I will be sure to keep you posted.
