Aloha Kiliki! Wow, congratulations on your weight loss! That is so excellent that you are below 250....I can't wait to join you there. I am a bargain shopper, too. We have a Savers here on Maui and I shop there all the time. It's a great way to find low cost clothing, especially when we are going to be going through DOWN sizes for the next couple of years (I hope!). I NEVER pay full price for anything anymore. Sometimes I find $150 Hilo Hattie muus at Savers for $10.00!! You can't beat that. Thanks so much for posting to the Hawaii board. I've almost lost contact with this forum because so few people use it. But maybe we can stage a comeback and get our people posting again. I hope so. Aloha nui loa, KarenS

Topic: I'm FINALLY under 250!! Whoo hoo!
Well, actually I just weighed myself and my current weight is 240. I can't even remember being at this weight in like ages! Seriously, I probably weighed 240 back in intermediate/high school and I'm 40 now. Life is good and I'm continuing to truck along with the weightloss. I can't wait for my next CWMP visit with the doctors and weigh-in to show my progress. I'm so excited! I'm actually doing something I never used to do before when food shopping...READ LABELS. I chuckled at myself when I was in Safeway shopping at 4am and realized I was reading packaging labels for ingredients, sugar, sodium, carbs, etc. NEVER USED TO DO THAT BEFORE. I've also gave in and bought a bunch of new clothes (on sale of course!) a couple of weekends ago at Sears and Ross'...yes, I don't believe in paying full price for anything cause I'm cheap. But too many people I work with kept commenting on my clothes "just hanging" on me, so I gave in and went shopping. Had a blast trying on stuff just for the hell of it. Anyways, hope others will check-in with the Hawaii Board and let us know your progress (or even set backs) cause you all know we're here to support each other. Catch you all on the flip side! Kris

Hi Shannon, Sorry to hear about all your problems associated with the surgery, but in time your body will start to heal and get better. Karen is right, your body has been through alot of stress so you just need to take it easy. Take care, Kris

Aloha Shannon, my friend......I sent you an email, but had to respond here, too. The Hawaii forum for some reason doesn't get much action so I go to the "over 50" forum a lot. I know you are YEARS from that, but I wish Hawaii people would post more. I am not at all surprised that you feel so yucky still. Your poor little body went through everything under the sun while you were in the hospital. It probably will take months before you feel completely normal again. But, just think, you will probably be half your weight by then, too. It's hard sometimes to look far far down the road, especially when you are feeling awful or you are stuck like I am without losing for quite awhile, but everyone keeps saying the same thing........give it time and we will succeed!! I will probably not recognize you next time I see you!! My friends tell me I definitely look like I've lost weight, but when I look in the mirror I really don't see much of a change. I am wearing clothes that used to be tight though, so that tells me that something is happening. I hope to see you at Webstiles a week from Saturday!! Aloha nui loa, KarenS

I think it is so funny we can eat the same things without any problems. When are you going to the next webstiles I will FOR SURE be there. I still really feel like crap the withdrawls from the meds were AWFUL indescribable. I am confused on how far out I am do I count from when I had my LAST surgery or when I left the hospital? What is your input on that? I am 7 weeks out from surgery and 4 from hospital. And I can eat anything. I am as of today 210 pounds and was 258 when I went in. Can't wait to hear from you I ramble I know lol!! Aloha your sista Shannon

Kris, I also wanted to add that if we were close to the 20 people needed, I would definitely kick in and go. Paula

Hi Kris, I talked to Dee on Wednesday and she doesn't think she will attend the 11/4. She's disappointed that it will only be the Hawaii people. I agree as far as I'd rather spend half that amount and have a nice dinner with you guys. The only reason I would attend is to meet the Hawaii people and we can do that on our own. So as it stands right now Dee and I won't be attending. Keep in touch, Paula
