OMG girl, I am soooooo excited! I almost couldn't beleive it when I saw the "approved" on the message board...I was like yayyyyyyyy! If you need anyone to talk to to help with some of the anxiety, I am usually always home.....LOL, it's gonna get bad those last couple nights!!! And, don't stress about the not being able to eat afterwards--it'll be the last thing on your mind, you're not gonna be hungry--at least I wasn't! I was super thirsty and it was a task to try and quench that thirst--you have to go so super slow! I think it was 2 tablespoons and hour or something! Anyways...congrats and good luck!

Kris...
I hope it won't be that hard for the liquid diet...lol...I'm such a big baby and watching everyone eat is going to be a beast. Especially since it's during Thanksgiving...but I guess I should be happy that I can eat pureeds by Christmas (I hope) I have my pre-op meeting on the 1st, I guess I'll find out everything then. Shoot...everything is going by so fast...I have the pre-op meeting and the xray and stuff, the lab work, AGAIN, my pre-op meeting with dr. ramsdell and dr. murayama (if he says brassiere again, i swear i'll fall off my chair laughing) and the my anesthesiologist pre-op meeting....whew...so many days i have to take off. It's all well worth it.
I bought the peanut butter from Down to Earth, I don't really care for it. But then again I'm not a peanut butter kind of person. My kiddos can majorly tell the difference too. But I refuse to buy anything else for them...so natural peanut butter it is.
This is the link for the Protein Delight Chocolate Coconut...this website offers cheap samples, too. And their shipping is fast and reasonable. They also seal all of their samples in little tiny plastic containers so it's not like VitaLady where they scoop some into ziploc bags and send it that way...that kind of freaks me out coming from a company like that, I don't know why...I'm just weird I guess. I ordered some other samples of the Protein Delight...but I haven't tried them yet. But so far I think Chocolate Coconut is one of my favorite powders by far. It's affordable too, I think it's $15 for a 1.1 pound tub and $23 for a 2 pound tub. This is an estimate...and I'm not sure if that's super chea*****t...but I think it's a pretty good deal for the taste.
Yeah...I think Halloween will pass by with relative ease...lol. We just bough a puppy, too, so that along with the move should keep the boys occupied and not thinking about candy. I'm so proud of my big boy...he's really taken his health into his own hands....he tells people he can't have sweets (or too much sweets) and passes up soda. That must have been majorly hard for him and I'm so proud that he's taken the responsibility of his health into his own hands. It was sad though, because he's the most active, fit kiddo around and we wouldn't ever think that he could have been diagnosed with diabetes ever.

I can't remember, I want to say a month or two and then you do pureed/liquid. But Dr. Murayama and/or one of the nuts will go over everything with you.
That chocolate flavor protein mix I gave you, if you blend in 2 Tbsp peanut butter it tastes pretty good. I use the Adam's 100% Natural PB or you can grind your own at Down to Earth (like Paula mentioned at the zoo).
So where do you order the Protein Delite Chocolate Coconut from? That sounds pretty good and I need more flavors so I don't get bored with the ones I'm always drinking.
Mini golf sounds fun...or that glow putt place at the malls too. Or even the movies would be cool too.

Ohhhh...no pre-op liquid diet is nice...lol. Do you know how long Dr. Murayama recommends the post-op liquid diet for?
You know the protein from Wal-Mart is it Body Fortress or something? If it is, Wal-Mart in Kunia sells samples for 89 cents. I was looking at it, but I didn't end up buying it today. I have so many to try already...lol. I know for a fact that I'm going to order Protein Delight Chocolate Coconut (tastes like a Mounds bar..yummy). I could so live with that. The smell of the Nectar brand one is too much for me to stomach even now...I've heard that if you drink it from a covered cup it helps a lot with the smell.
We're not doing Halloween this year...my older son was just diagnosed with diabetes and I thought it was too unfair for him to go trick or treating and get all the candy and not be able to eat it. Instead I think I'm going to take them out mini-golfing or something...I know my church is having something also so maybe we'll go over there (and hopefully there won't be too much candy). Your costume sounds too cute...that's funny how yall dress up together.
I can't wait for my weekend to start....actually...lol...I don't have a weekend...lol. I'm always at one job or another....but it should slow down at the law firm soon because the holiday season is coming around. Well...off I go back home...my kiddos have the flu and the hubby is the worst baby of them all....lol.

No pre-op liquid diet...although my thinking (and this is just me) is to eat protein the night before going in, only because you won't have any solid protein in you for a few days. You'll be on liquids (broth & crystal lite) and s/f jello after surgery, and for me I wasn't hungry at all so don't panic about the thought of a liquid diet after surgery.
I'm drinking my protein shake now (the samples I gave you), that's the ONLY protein mixes I'll touch! lol I thought I'd try this other one I found at Wal-mart...
Are you guys dressing up for Halloween? I'm almost done with buying my costume, a bunch of us are dressing up as the 70's...I'm going to try and make my hair into a huge , not sure how to do it though. I also bought these huge superfly glasses, bright orange w/big flowers printed scarf (the ugliest brightest thing I've ever seen, to tie around my head), paisley top and an old pair of jeans that I'm going to paint peace signs, etc. on. And all the stuff was bought from the thrift store (except top, that was from Ross'). Last year we dressed in togas, so we all bought old white sheets and tied it on. lol So there were about 10 of us walking around in togas.
Ok great to hear I'll be your !

Oh and I wanted to know if Dr. Murayama puts you on a pre-op diet? I didn't get to try the protein yet...I really have to get on the ball and try all of the ones I have (like 40ish samples...lol) but I'll tell you as soon as I try them. Thanks again for letting me sample the powder you use. I have to start ordering protein now for my surgery so I better try them all and decide which ones to order...lol.
