Topic: RE: CALCIUM QUESTION
I'm not sure how much the Beneprotein costs at Queens, I have a friend on the mainland that sends it to me by the case. I just saw the can on the shelf next to the Bariatrics Advantage bottles.
I haven't seen it on island other than there, if you do find it let me know!
Topic: RE: CALCIUM QUESTION
How much does Queen's sell it for? I gotta go check that out when I go for my pre-op meeting on the 1st. Is Queen's the onlly place here to sell it?
Topic: RE: CALCIUM QUESTION
Yes I do use a scoop (or two) of the Beneprotein powder in my protein drinks to kick up the protein count. No weird taste or smell like the Nectar brand. I'm not sure how it's going to mix/taste with Crystal Lite, I've never tried.
I'm not sure if Walgreens.com delivers to Hawaii though, you might want to double check.
Topic: RE: OK, another post that really doesn't belong here!!!
Sounds interesting.
What's this all about?
(Just looking here, and this caught my attention).
Thanks.

This seems really neat.
I don't think I could personally contribute, but it sure is nice to see OH members active with this type of stuff.
Keep up the great work!

Hey Kris...
I didn't know that Queen's POB I sells Bariatric Advantage stuff...lol...I was just about to order some this weekend, too! Thanks for the heads up, even if it wasn't my post...lol. Have you ever tried the Beneprotein powder? I heard about it was going to order if from Walgreens.com, it's $10.99 for the canister. I was thinking that I was just going to add that to my Crystal Light...but I was wondering if it had a weird taste or smell (because I'm so traumatized by Nectar...lol).

Topic: RE: AAHHHH..what do I need right now?
Hi Dana!! Congratulations on receiving your surgery date!!
I started buying my multiple vitamins, protein powder, B-12, Iron, Biotin. I purchase my things from GNC so I tried to purchase them a little at a time. It can get expensive, but since we need to take it the rest of our lives it's a good idea to get adjusted to buying them.
What did I have in my hospital bag? I also had the clothes that I was going to come home in. Make sure it's loose fitting and comfortable. I also took a bathrobe for
when I went walking. I also took a book, my cd player and a couple of my favorite cds. Believe it or not I did make use of them. Oh, don't forget to take a chapstick,
because you will find that your lips may get very dry. I also took my own toothbrush,
toothpaste, hairbrush, etc.
What should I have stocked in my fridge and pantry for after surgery? I bought
SF jello, crystal light, clear broth. I was on liquids for about 3 weeks.
What was an absolute neccessity during recovery? I would say make sure that you get up and walk as soon as you are able to. My surgeon does not use any drains, so
it was pretty easy to get around. Also, make sure to drink as much water as you are able to. Also, depending on how you are feeling, don't forget to get your protein in
I wish you all the best and will keep you in my prayers.
Aloha, Pat
