Ooohhh how fun...Maui and Kauai are nice places to visit. I'll give you my top five places to visit...because I could probably give you a billion things to go see...lol.
For Maui...
Hana Highway/Highway 31 South East Drive~~~beautiful scenery/beaches/waterfalls but it's a wicked drive...and long...lol...but stop off at Waikamoi Trail on the Hana Highway.
Lahina Town
Haleakala~~go for the sunrise...
Oheo Gulch
Iao Valley State Park
oh and the Maui Aquatic Center...it's kinda neat if you have kiddos around.
For Kauai...
All the falls~~Hanakapiai, Wailua, Opaeka'a and Waialeale Crater
The fern grotto
Snorkling~~Tunnels beach, the snorkling is great and it has a really huge reef and Ke'e Beach
Hanalei Valley
Kilaue'a Lighthouse and wildlife preserve.
Have fun!!

Topic: RE: OT~~My new "baby"
lol...yeah, she's super friendly, totally loving and not afraid of anything. i couldn't help being drawn to her because she was such a sweetie and not really your "typical" Chihuahua. she is going to be a house dog and when i take her out i will most definitely keep her leashed, but i just need to find a vet for her for her regular health care. other than her hearing (not totally deaf...probably moderate deafness) she's super healthy and thinks she a 80 pound pit bull. I don't mind bringing her to town since I work there and she comes with me to work anyways. Is Dr. Kondo affordable?
Topic: RE: KHNL News 8 Story - Fighting Obesity
Wow....that did bring back memories. In school I was always just about 20-30 pounds overweight, but I still had a hard time...I'm realatively close to her age and I can totally sympathize with her. At 270 pounds, my knees hurt, I can only imagine what she is going through right now especially being so young. I pray she finds whatever gives her solace...be it exercise and diet or WLS.
My sons wonder why I'm always telling them they can't have soda or juice and candy (well I let them have a "treat" once a every week or two) but my heart would absolutely break if I had to pick them up from school because their classmates found them "offensive." Children can be so cruel...and my heart broke for her. But she's doing the right thing in seeking help...that's such a brave first step for her to take.

For those who missed it, there was a very touching story of a local teen whose considering having WLS on KHNL News 8 last night. Hearing her story bought back alot of memories of my childhood and I could totally relate.
Just thought I'd share, there is also a link to the video on the page too.

Topic: RE: OT~~My new "baby"
She is a cutie! Deaf dogs need a little lovin' too, I'd be a little worried when out and about with cars, etc. since she can't hear. House dog right? I'm sure she's going to be spoiled rotten! lol Congrats on your new baby.
My vet is Dr. Kondo at The Honolulu Pet Clinic, but he's in town on Young Street.
Topic: OT~~My new "baby"
I picked up a cute lil Chihuahua...she's really tiny...like 2 1/2 pounds (and she's basically full grown). I love her already, she's so sweet and loving...but she's deaf. I just wanted to know if any of yall have suggestions for a good vet on Oahu. Here's a picture of her if yall want to see our lil CoCo Chanel...
