Hi everyone!!
Just checking it out over here. My husband and I have both had lap band and we are moving to Honolulu December 31st. Can't wait to get over there. Kids are gorwn and gone so we are starting a new adventure. We are soooo excited!! Our flight day can not get here soon enough.

What type of wls did you have? Many post-op people will tell you what is ok but every surgery is different and have different guidelines.

THanks Jenn! My WLS will be a secret. My husband is the only one that knows I'm pursuing WLS.
The rest of my family... forget about it... it's too painful for me to talk to them about it...

So true, Brian!!!!! Thank you for reminding us of that. Chest pain is not to be ignored. I was almost more scared with the anxiety I was feeling since I didn't know what was happening. I thought the anxiety was going to bring on a heart attack!!!!! It was scary. Better to rush to the ER than....

Start a new topic on this subject. It will get seen easier and more will answer.... well... ok, so there aren't too many of us, but you MIGHT get more answers!
I'll just answer by asking if you received any menu ideas from your surgeon or nutritionist? How far out from surgery are you? Eventually, you may be able to tolerate tuna, but it can be a little hard on a new tummy. And.... bread? I don't know about your doctor, but I am not allowed bread for a long time.... perhaps never. Evil carbs! I stay away from breads, rice, pasta, and the bad carbs and really keep my daily intake of carbs low to maximize my weight loss at this time. There is also some talk about bread not being good for a new tummy. Regardless... there won't be enough room for "a sandwich." I suggest getting used to weighing your foods in the beginning to help understand your limitations and avoid getting sick or uncomfortable.
Usually, after Phase 1/(Clear?) Liquids (and having already been successful with Full Liquids and Pureed Foods) you move on to Soft Foods (after 3-6 weeks).... soft texture and moist foods that are easy to chew.... soft boiled or scrambled eggs, tofu, small curd cottage cheese..... so, I am not sure what your doctor has given you as guidelines. I feel that while the suggestions and opinions of others is good to hear, I think you should listen to your doctor and nutritionist first and foremost.
Ok... just my opinions and the recommendations that I was given. I tend to follow them almost to the letter and extend each phase as long as I can to (again) maximize loss at this time.
