Topic: 2 weeks out and lost --lbs.

My last weigh in was 415lbs.  I went to my post op this past Friday, and I am down to 389lbs.  I am finally out of the 400lbs range.

I had the RNY July 28, 2008.  I am so happy.  Doc gave me the ok to have protein.

I lost 26lbs total and still going.

Anyone eating protein?  What do you have and what amount?  Did you have fruits or vegetaables?

Well, my journey has just begun.

Topic: Post WLS but New to Board
Hi, I am new to the board, just thought I'd say Hi and let everyone know that WLS really made a big difference in my life.
I had RNY in May 2002. I was 323 pounds when I was approved for the surgery and am currently 185.  My goal weight was 175, and I met that (even got down to 160 for a while) but bad habits have crept back in and my weight is creeping back. I am trying to get back into the right place mentally, emotionally and physically.

Gets pretty smokey and loud over here, too, unless they ban due to dryness. Regardless... good times for all!

The EKG takes 5 minutes. I did that in the PCP's office. Of course bloodwork is fast and the Chest X-Ray was done at the same office that my blood work was done. So in less then 45 minutes everything was done and this included the waiting.

Well yesterday I had an appointment with the dietian, RN and WLS Coordinator.  Actually it was a seminar.  Well I got a piece of paper that told me a break down on the steps that I have to do.  Well it said that my meeting with the Psychologist is not until Oct. 14.  I was like this is 2 months away.  I don't want to wait two months.  Well of course I am still happy about being approved.  Well I was still bummed this morning.  Well I just called the Psychologist and asked if she has any openings before Oct. 14.  Guess what she has one on August 30.  Better yet it is on a Saturday so that I don't have to miss work.  Looks like I can get my surgery in September.

Today I went to my PCP and did the EKG, Chest X-Ray and all the blood work.  I just have the Sleep Study to do.  I am going to be on the losers bench before I know it.

E Komo Mai

You are going to love it here.  Well just to let you know if you are arriving on New Years Eve that is going to be a very loud and smokey day.  I don't know about the other Islands but here on Oahu everyone goes off on fireworks.  The is no formal balls or anything like that it is just one back yard party with all your friends.

Welcome to the Hawaii Board.
