What do you reccomend for supplements?
Can you all share with me what things you've liked and what you did not?
I'm generally not a fruity kinda gal - so unsure of the isopure, but I am going to give it a try, because it seems to get really good reviews.
The dietician reccomended trying a whole bunch of them so I know what I like before surgery so I won't get stuck with stuff I don't like, or running to the store to buy something else!
Also - how about the Calcium? The pills she showed me were horsepills!! She said I'd just need to crush them up... I'm just wondering if anyone else found calcium citrate in a more palatable form?
Thanks you guys!
I use Centrum chewables, I do b-12 injections which i get from my doctor and give myself at home once a week. For calcium I do Viactive chews but there is a liquid calcium citrate on the trader joes website that some people like if you don't like the calcium chews. I think it taste like candy so it doesnt bother me.
The Centrum chewables have enough iron in them so you do not have to take additional.
Keep in mind that vitamins are not intended to be a delicacy, it is just something we have to deal with. The centrum taste like any other vitamin. I have the orange flavor and its not bad. I was told i only needed one a day but i take 4. 2 in the morning and 2 at night.

I am using generic kids multi vitamins (just like Flinstones), and I take 2 in the morning and 2 at night...to me they tasted better than the centrum. I just bought sublingual B-12 from GNC tonight, so I haven't even tried it yet. The lady at GNC told me that the health food store carries chewable calcium citrate, so I still need to get that. Theres an online company that sells all the stuff, but to me it seems really expensive, it is bariatric advantage. For the protein shake, I was doing Isopure, the dutch chocolate one, because it gives you 50 grams of protein per serving...but, it started making feel sick or something, so I just bought Designer Whey protein mix in Vanilla tonight from GNC--I'll try it tomorrow...I think that one only has 20 grams of protein.
Thanks for the leads... I'm going to hit GNC tomorrow when I'm in Lihue.
Steffie - what made you decide to do the injectable b12? I think that's definately a route I could go if the sublingual wasn't great. Also - are the Viactive chews calcium citrate? Cause those were the first thing I wanted to try - I've had them before and they're wonderful!
Jessica - let me know how those sublingual b12's are, those seem fairly easy to me. 50gms of protein in those isopures sound wonderful too! I wonder if I can handle that one.. Gonna go find some to try.
kiliki blue raspberry sounds like it has potential... I'll try it.
