Is this Normal??
The only thing I seem to want is water...I am just curious if this is normal? I am 4 days post-op. I am trying to get in my protein drink...I went and bought Isopure to get the 50grams per serving (because my surgeon wants me to aim for 100 grams a day)...but, I have all I can do to get in 3/4 of a serving. Let me know if this sounds right!!! Thanks!
100 grams? that is crazy! I wonder why he wants you to get in 30-40 grams more than me? I think it all depends on the surgical weightloss program. alvarado is different. I wouldn't say it is strange to only wan****er. I wanted pizza fries and burgers 4 days out so I drank tons of broth so that I had something that resembled the taste of food.
Don't push yourself. The amount they tell you to get in is impossible that early out. Your new pouch is still swollen so that affects the capacity a great deal. Just do what is comfortable. Still to this day I can eat turkey and beef jerky all day long but if I try a protien bar or shake I instantly get nauseous and gotta lay down for half an hour.
If it hurts don't do it. That is the best rule.
Hurry up and get home! I wanna go to the beach but I don't wanna go alone!
Steffie
LOL...now I feel better and not so abnormal!!
Steffie....I'm not sure why he wants me to get in 100g of protein...maybe it has something to do with starting weight? The stuff makes me a little nauseas too...I am going to try mixing something in it tomorrow and see if it helps..he said today I could blend it with fruit or whatever---LOL, not like I have a blender here, but I am going to try a little coffee or something. It feels like the stuff gets in my tummy and just sits there all day. I'm coming home Wednesday, and I'll be your beach buddy! I like going to Ko'Olina Lagoons with Kyle--they are very baby/kid friendly as far as the water goes. I forgot to ask about swimming, but I should be fine--my steri strips probably have a couple more days to go but everything is closed over--even where the drain was...it never leaked or anything--like what you warned me about. Oh well.....see you soon!!!
Sounds like you are doing great! I had a hard time with the protein at first too. I felt like it was more important to stay hydrated intially. After a week I worked the protein in more. From reading your other post, you are really doing well. The weather here is great. One thing I noticed and so did my friend that had surgery 2 months before me, was how cold I felt. I mean shivering! Have a safe trip home. I took the wheelchair, so glad I did. All you have to do is call and request it, then ask when you check in. I was really wiped out after surgery, could never have gone cruising like you have done. Aloha, Joan
