Have refferal and consult!

I saw my PCP today, and I was so excited! She said she'd definately refer me, and that she refers to Dr. Belfour at Straub. She said it might take me a while to get an appt, and I told her I already had one scheduled! She was impressed. So, I go to Honolulu next Thursday.. I'm actually meeting with Dr. Belfours partner, Dr. Huang. Interestingly, she ended up diagnosing me with HTN today, which surprised me because my BP's have ALL been normal! 120's over 70's... BUT I'm spilling ALOT of protein in my urine so she thought that was probably due to BP? So the referal says, MO, HTN, Proteinuria, and borderline DM which I just found out conclusively today, though I've had my suspicions for awhile. I wonder how long, and what the process will be to get a date?? I would LOVE to have this first to middle of June if it's even remotely possible. What do you think? Anybody else have the turnaround be that fast or faster? What did you do to make it go quickly?

Sorry I know I've been replying to all your posts separately but I thought you'd like to know that Dr. Balfour's list has been moving VERY swiftly and some patients report waiting only a few months maybe 3. I however, got caught up in a rush from Tripler and it took me a few more months so getting an appt and consult this fast is EXCELLENT!! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Jamie

That's okay Jamie, thank you so much for replying!! I love the feedback! I'm so glad the list is moving so well for them.. hopefully it will be for the other doctor in his office too! I hope for 3 mos or less.. is that reasonable? I mean, can I get all the pre-requisites done in that short of time? Did Dr. Balfour make you diet pre-op? You must have Tri-care, but did your insurance make you diet pre-op? That worries me... mostly that it will slow me way down having to go so many months dieting before I can even get approved, or schedule! thanks for being willing to answer all these silly questions! I really appreciate it!
