No respect for fat women!

O.K. so I'm an American Idol fan. Last night Mandisa, a very heavy woman was voted off. She's an excellent singer, a beautiful woman, but she's fat. On Tuesday night she wore an especially unflattering outfit which I believe made her look heavier than ever. While Ruben was called, "The Velvet Teddy Bear," because of his weight, Mandisa was considered just plain fat. It's not fair, but it's fact. Men can get away with being heavy much better than women. I hope that Mandisa loses weight and becomes a successful performer. All of us who are post surgical know the rewards of losing weight. Paula

Yes! I hear you. Mandisa is (I think) the best singer of them all. My mother and I complained about it too. The way society is we knew that she would get booted off. It's sad. And I forgot about Reuben. You're so right. How are you doing? Jackie

Hi Paula ~ Yes, this time it's a go. Dr. Fowler had some hospital criteria to meet (i think). Dr. Lapschies will not be with him in surgery or will not participate with him (i don't know why). I'm thinking he got frustrated with Castle too. Heeheehee........We have another Dr. coming here from the mainland (Dr. Allen). How are you doing? I'm fine. Very excited. I feel that this is more realistic now. I have my pre-ops blood tests to take tomorrow. Did another EKG on Saturday, because the 1st one was done last May 2005. Also, I have to drink clear liquids on Mon. 4/17 & drink Fleet to clean me out. Oh, and last is Friday 4/14 (ASF) meet with the Anesthesiologist and Ambulatory services? I dunno. Thanks for asking. Hi Jackie! I have e-mailed you several times, so I'm not sure if you have received them or not. Although, there is a post from me to you. Just wanted to wish you well on your upcoming WLS. I'm sorry to hear that you are having some problems at Castle. I live in Kaneohe and have been there many times, so I know it can be frustrating. Hi Jackie, I'm glad that you are finally going to have your surgery. If you want more info to read up on, I have some great books, and a book put together by Dr. Lapschies specifically for lap band. If you like we could meet. If so, call me at work at 971-7199 and leave a message if I'm not here. On the other message board via Yahoo, I have been talking with Linda and Jenn, both in Hawaii who have the band, both from Dr. Cirangle. Linda is 2 years out, and may have erosion, which means another surgery. I haven't heard from her since her appt. w/ Dr. Cirangle. Another great website is Lapbandtalk.com, or the Lapband forum on this site, Obesityhelp.com. After reading Lapbandtalk.com I see that going to Mexico for a lapband is really risky. They have a thread which keeps track of all of the problems from there. I'm doing fine, but I'm considering a fill in July. It will be only my second fill, my first was last July. Maybe tighten it up a little and jump start my weightloss. That's the great thing about the band, it's ongoing! Well, if I don't hear from you, good luck on your surgery!
